SEPIDEH AND MATTHEW'S WEDDING

August, 2009 in Toronto

"Really unique wedding that highlights historic downtown Toronto with some of the cities most famous landmarks and our wonderful multiculturalism bringing two totally different cultures together!!! So the unique element is I am Persian with Muslim background and my husband is Jamaican with Pentecostal, Christin background so right from the get go our wedding was one of a kind. We opted to go with a non-denominational wedding ceremony which was a first for both our families and really played out the uniqueness of our personalities and relationship throughout the day with our ceremony at the stunning Windsor Arms hotel with Persian cultural traditions and personal poems and vows and then for the reception we went completely unique with a Movie theme wedding at an old art deco 1950's theatre converted to a banquet hall with red carpet, rope and our names on the marquee "Diamonds are Forever starring Matthew and Sepideh" we made movie posters with a slight James Bond style element in them to compliment the classic movie but also ladened the hall with crystals and white floral to show off the diamond factor. The colors for the wedding were chocolate brown and tiffany blue with the girls in tiffany blue with brown accents (all had different tops to show off each unique girl, all dresses and ties hand made by one of the groomsmen's mother), and the boys in non traditional brown tuxedos with tiffany blue ties and handkerchiefs. The groom was in diamond ivory like me with black and tiffany blue accents so he stood out from his crew. Our decor was just as unique as all the elements of our wedding with chocolate brown and ivory and tiffany blue linens at the reception to 8 foot high floral and crystal structures from the archway at the ceremony to the grand backdrop at the reception truly stunning and we got a HUGE wow factor from all our guests with the grand curtain opening looking down at the reception with a movie screen playing our movie posters. The idea started all from the tiffany blue box that i love but remixed with brown ribbon and as favours guest got these boxes with either Jamaican rum cake in them or with Custom Shot glasses I had order from the states with our monogram (i created myself) filled with custom tiffany blue M&M’s with our names and wedding date on them also shipped from the states. Our centerpieces were as dramatic as every other element with aqua shells and curly willow and white orchids. My bouquet was actually silk philinopesos orchid but you can’t even tell at all with crystals as well and the girls had ivory roses with crystal beads intertwined. Our night was truly amazing with all cultures and religions on the dance floor dancing to each others music from Persian to reggae we had a blast and gave all our guest a once a lifetime unique experience. Hope you like all of our photos as much as we did and that we can add a whole new element of culture, color, location, style to your magazine and website!! let me know if you need more info or photos!!"

"Amazing venue if you want something unique, we did the whole movie theme to the nine and our guest were so surprised and loved it! The venue is one of a kind really but beware lots of hidden extra cost either than per plate, regular bar package wasn’t that great so we added a few bottles we liked turned out better than upgrading bar. BEWARE!! the food we tasted at the tasting was not the same on our wedding I was so upset the pasta portion was SOOOO small it made us look cheap when we paid SOOO much already and main course was not presented same way as in tasting very upset but the food is very good and doesn’t taste like typical banquet hall food. All in all worth it even with a few hiccups for the unique wow factor you get!!"
