"On a Friday night in 1964, Dominic Bellissimo was tending bar at the now famous Anchor Bar Restaurant in Buffalo, NY. Late that evening, a group of Dominic's friends arrived at the bar with ravenous appetites. Dominic asked his mother, Teressa, to prepare something for his friends to eat. They looked like chicken wings, a part of the chicken that usually went into the stock pot for soup. Teressa had deep fried the wings and flavored them with a secret sauce. The wings were an instant hit and it didn't take long for people to flock to the bar to experience this new taste sensation. From that evening on, Buffalo Wings became a regular part of the menu at the Anchor Bar. The phenomenon created in 1964 by Teressa Bellissimo has spread across the globe. Although many have tried to duplicate Buffalo Wings, the closely guarded secret recipe is what makes Frank & Teressa's the proclaimed "Best Wings in the World.""

"Great Irish atmosphere - authentic Irish pub in the historic cobblestone district."
Restaurants:
Pearl Street Grill & Brewery
76 Pearl StBuffalo, NY, United States
"One of downtown's most happening scenes, Pearl Street attracts college kids and families alike. Set in an old warehouse with leaded windows, exposed brick, wood beams, and low-level lights, Pearl Street is two floors of nonstop beer-pouring, food-running, and pool playing. The warehouse-cum-microbrewery is a stereotype by now, but Pearl Street pulls it off well. The menu offers basic burgers and salads, and upgrades with tasty pasta and pizza, excellent kielbasa, and more upscale options like grilled Atlantic salmon with lemon dill butter. Definitely sample the beer: The Lake Effect Pale Ale and Trainwreck are both excellent."
Restaurants:
Spot Coffee

"Spot Coffee is locally owned and a great place to people watch - Starbucks is located right across the street!"
Attraction:
Albright-Knox Art Gallery
1285 Elmwood AveBuffalo, NY, United States
"The gorgeous Albright-Knox is one of Buffalo's can't-miss attractions, a treasure-trove of 5,000 works that should attract more attention than it does. This Greek Revival building, with 18 dramatic marble columns on its facade, dates to 1905 and nabs some exhibits that don't even make it to New York City. The Albright has recently intensified its efforts to sell older works and buy more contemporary art, which fit in well at the museum's newer wing that opened in 1962. Gauguin, Picasso, Pollock, de Kooning, and Warhol are all represented in the permanent collection, while some artists of the moment and cutting-edge photographers are shown here as well. The collection is well organized and not overwhelming, but plan on at least a half-day here -- and lunch in the excellent cafe."
Attraction:
Buffalo & Erie Naval Park
1 Naval Park Cove, Buffalo, New York, United States
"This Buffalo waterfront attraction is the largest inland park of its kind in the nation. All branches of the Armed Forces are represented in the park’s exhibits. Tour the decks and hulls of a guided missile cruiser, destroyer and WWII submarine. Inspect uniforms and memorabilia in the museum and exhibits aboard the ships. See planes, a tank and more."
Attraction:
Darwin Martin House
617 Main St # 203Buffalo, NY, United States
"A must for any lover of Frank Lloyd Wright architecture. One of Wright's greatest works, this Prairie-style home was designed and constructed between 1903 and 1906. Wright imagined the 10,000-square-foot residence for Martin, who was one of Buffalo's wealthy industrialists and one of Wright's biggest boosters. Its low-slung profile with an emphasis on the horizontal was -- and remains -- an amazing piece of architecture. A tour of the inside reveals the architect's genius for expanding spaces and hiding bookcases. A painstaking, masterful restoration has re-created parts of this house from scratch; walking through it truly gives you an appreciation for Wright's genius. With more re-creation (and a new visitor center) on the way, this site will become even more breathtaking."
