Hi Alison! I highly recommend the Hyatt - especially if you are trying to plan your wedding from out of town! Jane Cavanaugh (the assistant director of catering/convention service manager) was incredible! She really handled all the details to a T! There were so many things included...your room is included the night of the wedding. And they put us in the BEST room. It was the presidential suite with an attached parlor room so we could continue the party after the reception! The pictures on the website are no exaggeration...the suite really is that nice! The food was incredible! There were so many options! The only thing I would check right away is the F&B minimum. It was $15k when we did our wedding (before tax & gratuity). That was more than I had planned to pay, but I'm glad I did. The ballroom the beautiful, the food was excellent (including the cake - which is also included in your package) and the new renovations are breathtaking! Our guests had a great time! Appetizers & cocktail hour were in the Garden Atrium, which made the atmosphere really fun before going into the ballroom! And Jane is very well organized! People always tell me that I'm super organized...and I really trusted Jane to plan things out for me. She definitely didn't let me down & always got back to me in a timely manner. She even helped me set up my wedding block for my guests! I think there's a promo going on now that if you book your wedding, you get a few nights at any Hyatt for free...which is nice for honeymoon planning or even fun getaways when you return from your honeymoon! Wow - I think I sound like an infomercial for the Hyatt...but just wanted to share what an absolutely great experience we had with our wedding. I hope that more brides can have their planning be as easy as it was for me! And having it at a hotel was the exact reason I chose the Hyatt...I also had many out-of-town guests. If the Hyatt doesn't end up working out for you, the Embassy Suites just opened on Delaware Ave. That's a beautiful place as well in case you need a back up. Just stay away from the Statler Towers!! Thank you SO much for your response. I am in the process of getting the contract for the Hyatt and I have been dealing with Lauren Solack. She is really nice and helpful, I think there are a few different catering managers so I hope she's as good as Jane! They told me about the promotion so that is really awesome and I didn't realize the suite they give you is so great! I looked at the Embassy Suites and the Adam's Mark but the ballrooms are not nearly as nice or modern as the Hyatt. I will def check the F&B minimum but i don't think that'll be a problem for us as it'll be a big wedding. Since you got married in a church i'm sure you took pics b/w the ceremony and reception but did you take any around the Hyatt? Sounds like things are ready to go with the Hyatt! Congrats! You'll really enjoy it. They have a few cute places to take pictures inside (like the Atrium). But if you're looking for grass/trees, I would plan to take pictures before hand. We went to the Mansion on Delaware and took pictures outside in the garden inbetween. And although I have heard that many weddings have gone off without a hitch at the Statler, they have had some recent issues that I'm sure you can look into on the news. I don't want to give you out of date facts. We also considered the Statler but decided to forgo it due to the bankruptcy/renovation issues.
