Garbage plates. 'Nuff said. (Ok, if you've never heard of them, you need a little explanation for this horrible, delicious, unforgettable Rochester experience: "What is the famous Nick Tahou's Garbage Plate™? We start with a base of any combination of home fries, macaroni salad, baked beans, or french fries topped by your choice of meats [three burgers or three hot dogs] and dressed to your liking with spicy mustard, chopped onions, and our signature Nick Tahou's hot sauce. Each plate comes with two thick slices of fresh italian bread and butter." If you finish a whole plate by yourself, we will pay you $10 and shake your hand.

George Eastman House

The Eastman Kodak (photographic) company's founder, George Eastman, build his Guilded Age mansion in the glory days of Rochester. Now it's a museum, plant conservatory and photo gallery and archive. Lots of interesting photo exhibits come through here.

Mount Hope Cemetery

America's first Victorian cemetery, resting place of such local notables as Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony. Designed by Frederick Law Olmstead, famed architect of Central Park and Boston's Public Gardens. Worth a visit on a nice fall day.

Papi's pick: Ellison Park

The dog park comes highly recommended for barking, running, splashing, and sniffing butts, according to our resident dachshund.

University of Rochester River Campus

Where it all began--our alma mater. Very picturesque; how a college should look. Be sure to check out Rush Rhees Library on the quad.
