PORT JEFFERSON WEDDING IN SEPTEMBER

"Port Jefferson is perfect for a wedding because everything is so centralized. The church, the hotels and our reception location. People enjoyed walking around town as well. My family is from New England so all of them started off the wedding weekend with a ferry ride across the sound which docked 100 yards from their hotel! They couldn't belive it! Port Jeff is so beautiful and serene! We loved every minute of it!"

I am interested in having a Catholic ceremony and reception at Lombardi's. Were you parishoners at the church? If not, was it difficult to find a Catholic Church to marry you? Also, can you tell me any more about the reception at Lombardi's? It looks gorgeous!

Hello,

We initially were not prisoners of Infant Jesus, but my husband's family has been for years. I do not remember it being a huge issue if you were not. Infant Jesus is extremely organized. You get handouts to give to your limo driver, photographer and videographer from the church explaining where they can go and do during your ceremony. My husband and I really enjoyed Pre-Cana as well. It was a great learning experience for both of us. There is also a meeting that is held to help you choose your ceremony music. There are suggestions on the worksheets, they play the songs on the organ and then you check off the song you want played. SOOOOOOOO helpful and easy! As you may already know or learn wedding planning can get a bit overwhelming.
MY BIGGEST suggestion is to go get a binder and fill it with dividers such as Ceremony, Music, Reception, Food, Dress, Bridesmaids ect... and they you will have a place to put all of your paperwork in one place--- A LIFESAVER!

Lombardi's is AMAZING especially if your guests are not familiar with a Long Island wedding. The food is amazing and it keeps coming!!! To save a bit of money we had an afternoon reception and then had an after party. Lombardi's is very organized during your wedding day, the service is impeccable! There was a waiter for each table and I had 2 attendants making sure my husband and I had everything we needed or wanted. My guests were so impressed with the service and the food and the view and ok EVERYTHING. If I were to plan again I would do it exactly the same.... Also Danford's is really great, too. They recently renovated their rooms (in 2008) and it is such a beautiful location on the water. Service is off of the charts. I left my diamond earrings in my room and the manager tracked down the vacuum that was used in the room and started digging through the vacuum bag!! A minute later a maintenance man brought to us!!!
