"We planned our Charlotte wedding while moving from South Carolina to Maryland. Neither one of us lived in North Carolina, but with the help of my mom and our FANTASTIC vendors, we had a wonderful wedding. We couldn't have asked for a better night with both of our families and all of our friends together."

Question:
Hi, congratulations and I hope all is well...I am curious though about a comment you posted "I only wish they had a room available for the bride and her bridesmaids to get ready without having to rent another hotel room that we only used for a couple of hours." ...I have booked my wedding there and I am having second thoughts...I don't feel like you should be charged a room to get dressed-so you had to pay for another room..was there a discount/and did your guests have to pay for parking. I have been told my guests have to pay for parking...JUST wish I didn't book now...I think i felt pressed for time and made a hasty decision...can you Give me some advice..and insight and details on your experience there..thanks

Hi Ke-sha and congratulations to you and your fiance.
Most of our bridal party came from out of town, so we requested to have a room that one of my bridesmaids rented and the room that one of our groomsman rented to be adjoining to each other. Then the groomsman (whose room we were in) got ready in a second groomsman's room and I was able to have the two adjoining rooms to get ready in with my bridesmaids. We actually spent most of the time in just one room with hair & make-up, but I had a small bridal party so it was easy. But when it came time to get dressed, we were able to go into the 2nd room and not worry about any of the food, drinks, make-up etc being spilled on the dresses.
It wasn't what I had originally envisioned for how I would get ready but it worked just fine. And fortunately, our groomsmen were flexible enough to help me out.

Yes, my guests did have to pay for parking as well. They didn't mention it to me either when I signed my contract with them and it was a detail that slipped my mind at the time. But I don't remember hearing anyone complain about it, but maybe they did and just didn't tell me. :-)

Overall, I was very happy with my wedding there. I don't know who specifically you are working with, but I worked with Julie and she was really great. My florist forgot to deliver my toss bouquet since I was keeping my original bouquet. And when I realized it during the reception, Julie made a toss bouquet for me out of the flowers from my ceremony that were brough to the reception. I don't know how she did it, but she did and it was perfect for me to use.

Everyone said the food was good - I honestly don't remember too much about it. And I thought everything went smoothly. Again, I think if there were any problems no one told me or Julie just handled it.

"We had a very difficult time finding someone for our wedding cake. Then we came across Erica & Cloud 9 (recommended by our hotel). The first meeting was bumpy since she forgot the samples, but then we scheduled another meeting at her shop in Charlotte. Erica had so many delicious samples and offered great ideas to make our cake perfect for us. She never rushed us and we knew our cake was going to be not only beautiful, but delicious. She did not disappoint! We were thrilled to see a picture of our cake on the Cloud 9 website. It was simple & elegant - exactly what we asked for from her. The Red Velvet was fantastic and we can't wait to have the Tres Leche on our first anniversary!"

"Heather was PERFECT! She did not only my hair and make-up, but my mom's hair & make-up, and the hair of all of my girls (one decided to have her hair done that day!) She timed everyting perfectly and even allowed time for the couple of interruptions with no problems. My girls loved her! I don't wear a lot of make-up and my fiance/husband was worried I would have on so much make-up that he wouldn't recognize me. Heather did it perfect. The pictures looked natural and I even emailed her when I got back from the honeymoon to ask what make-up she used so I could buy some. She took all of my random pictures of ideas for my hair and made it perfect. It stayed put and I didn't have to worry about it one time all night. She did all of my bridesmaid's hair differently and they all loved it too. That's not easy to do considering none of them came with ideas of what they wanted. Thanks, Heather!"

"Julie was AMAZING! I never knew of any "issues" that came up and she took care of everything including making a throw bouquet since the florist forgot it. Everything went extremely smoothly and even my parents loved working with her. The food was great and the chef even met with us to help us pick the perfect menu for our reception. I only wish they had a room available for the bride and her bridesmaids to get ready without having to rent another hotel room that we only used for a couple of hours."
