A darling diner that doesn't seem to have changed since it opened in the 1940s. Anonymous and my favorite place for burgers and milkshakes in Kansas City.
Attraction
Kansas City Zoo
6800 Zoo DrKansas City, MO, USA
Really neat zoo...but be prepared to walk. A lot. Seriously. Though in the "Australia" area you get to roam among the kangaroos in their fenced area, which is pretty sweet. Advice: ride the train whenever you can.
Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art
4525 Oak StKansas City, MO, USA
A smaller art museum, but don't miss the Rodin sculpture garden, period art displays, and modern art exhibits.
Powell Gardens
Powell Gardens1609 NW US-50, Uninc Johnson County, MO,
Beautiful gardens, including a gorgeous chapel on the grounds. A must for those looking for a more restful sort of place to spend time in Kansas City.
Truman Harry S Library & Museum
500 W Us Highway 24Independence, MO, USA
Wonderfully interactive and modernized tribute to the only Missouri President.
Union Station
30 W Pershing RdKansas City, MO, USA
Beautiful building, exquisite architecture. Lots of interesting displays, including Science City and traveling displays. Also connected by an enclosed walkway to the Crown Center, where there is abundant shopping (including the biggest Crayola store I've been in yet).
Worlds of Fun
Worlds of FunWorlds of Fun Ave, Kansas City, MO,
Kansas City's major theme park. Anonymous raves about, but I've never been there, so that's about all I can say.
