"Kennebunkport Maine was beautiful. We originally wanted a Bahama's beach wedding because we really wanted to get married on the beach and have an outdoor reception. We live in MA and traveling to Maine was perfect and believe it or not inexpensive-esp if you do a lot on your own and do mostly fake flowers. All my bridesmaid bouquets and centerpieces were fake. Our day was one I will never forget and I think about daily. Everyone was great to work with and our guests said this was the best wedding they've ever been too."

When we saw where you got married we just HAD to ask you a few questions because this is exactly what Steve and I are looking for! So was the ceremony completely outside? Where do you go to arrange this and with who? And the trolly, WOW, amazing. Please send any info you can. It will be so much appreciated. Thanks

Hi Deborah..Yes our ceremony was completely outside on the beach (goose rocks beach. It is a public beach and we were also able to put chairs on the beach too. We had originally thought we needed to notify the town and get a permit but all we had to do was speak to the chief of police and let them know we were having the wedding. The police station told us to call them again 2 wks before the wedding and everything was fine. The only thing they stressed to us was parking-there was none on that beach which is why we had two trollies take everyone from the resort (ocean woods) to the beach everyone loved it! I had put the itinerary on this website and also in their rooms. This website was on my invitations. The trolley information is Ogunquit Trolley Company DO NOT use intown trolley they took my date down and my credit card to hold the date(didn't charge it) and booked my time for another wedding and tried to get me to change my wedding times and charge me more money because they had to rent a trolley from somewhere else which we found out to be oqunquit trolley-so my wedding coordinator spoke directly w/ OTC and it was so much easier and he was very nice! Laurie Montagari was our wedding coordinator she did a fabulous job with our beach wedding she is from NH we spent $1000 for her worth every penny to put our vision together and deal with vendors. Hello Brenda & Matt,
Our daughter Shannon is getting married next july and so badly wants a oceanfront wedding ceremony in maine; I stumbled across many sites until I came across yours. I am having a very difficult time trying to find a place for her that she will love dearly. When I saw that you had your wedding at "Goose Rocks Beach" I thought wonderful; but how do I go about setting things up; until I read your responses from others asking similar questions. Where it is a public beach, how did things work out with the public being there and them not getting in the way of your ceremony? Such as sunbathers etc...where did everyone park their cars if there was no parking for the guests? Was there a problem with bugs such as green heads or sand fleas? Roughly how long did it take for the ceremony to finish? So I can get some type of time frame to organize things before and after. How did you keep your beautiful dress from getting either dirty or wet? I know things are going to be that way on the beach, but any suggestions will help. How did you deal with the heat from the sun for your guests? Is goose rocks beach a sandy or rocky beach? That way we can plan accordingly with either bare feet or flip flops for everyone? Is the beach a flat or hilly beach? Have not seen it yet that's why I am asking before I go for a visit. I will check things over with the chief of police if we decide to go that route; and thanks for the info regarding everything. Your pictures were beautiful, and hope your marriage is going wonderfully. Hope to hear back with some more additional info as soon as possible so we can get a move on things. Your wedding looks gorgeous! I am planning a wedding in Kennebunkport for next summer. We want our ceremony on the beach, but I am freaking out over the unreliable weather in Maine. What if it is stormy? I feel like we would need a back up plan so that I don't have a panic attack :) Did you guys have an alternative plan is weather was not permitting?

"Owen is so unbelievable, my cake was a beach theme with grass, starfish and sand. It was so realistic and I can't thank him enought. He also did a grooms cake for my husband. It was a blue red sox hat. The stitching on it was so cool. Worth the money!!!!!"

"Laurie was my wedding coordinator. She helped me with the final preparations and set up the wedding ceremony and reception. She did a fantastic job. She also got the trolley's for me. In town trolley in Kennebunkport did not remember talking to me or taking my credit card and Laurie had a hard time with them and she got the trolley from ogunquit. Thank god because I needed transportation to bring everyone back and forth to Goose Rocks beach because of limited partking. I highly recommend you to have her for your last final month of planning and help you with your rehearsal and wedding day. I didn't have to worry about one thing!"

"We were able to set up our chairs on the beach and the weather was beautiful. We used the main entrance to the beach near the mart. We used the trolley service in agunquit to get everyone down there. There is limited partking and you need a permit. The trolley was just a great touch!"

"The venue we used was great. We rented out the entire resort with our guests. The owners are super sweet. They had just bought the resort a year prior and I beleive we were there first wedding outdoors under a tent. It was a little difficult because of this trying to get out some of the kinks. Just keep all your emails and notes and stay focused on what you plan just in case things change on you. If they request that you rent porta potties outside ask them to move them away from the tent. We smelled them later in the night. Other thank that my husband and I plan on staying at ocean woods on our anniversary every year. They are wonderful people!"
