Question:
Hello,

Congratulations on your recent wedding. My fiance and I are getting married in Annapolis next August. I am Catholic and have had some contact with St. Andrew by the Bay. They informed me that non-members are welcome to get married in their church (we do not currently live in the immediate area). I was just wondering, how far in advance did you book the church for your ceremony? I've had trouble getting in touch with the deacon again after our initial contact. I am hoping a year in advance is early enough and that they aren't already booked for our date. Thanks!

Hello!

My fiance was actually a member of the church and I was not. We booked the church about 10 months before the wedding. It does fill up quickly. They only have spots at 10, 12 and 2. They do charge more however for non-members.

In terms of contacts, I would reach out to Lynn Chronister. They have had some turnover with the deacons in the last couple months because their deacon actually passed away back in April I believe. So this wedding season was very tough for them. Lynn Chronister took over as the Sacristarian about a year ago. She might be able to help if you aren't getting responses from the church. Also, just as a reference, Father Martin is amazing. We did our wedding preparation with him and her performed our ceremony and I couldn't have asked for anything better.

Thanks so much for the information! I was actually able to meet with Deacon Tengwall last week and scheduled a tentative date for our wedding next year. I also got to meet Lynn (she seems very nice), and we'll be meeting with Father Martin in the next couple of weeks.
