"We had the perfect wedding we both dreamed of and we were both "present" the entire day and didn't feel like we missed a thing. Surrounding yourself with vendors and people you trust made all the difference in the world because I didn't worry about a thing the entire day."

Exiting the Norwegian Lutheran Memorial Church after the ceremony. This photo was a product of Dan's post-production efforts where he took a few photos and did some creative effects with them to make them more works of art instead of just a photo. - The Newlyweds
Dan provided truly rich photos capturing the intimate moments of the day. - The Ceremony
Photo taken in Palmer House Hotel lobby, a true landmark in the city and unbelievable backdrop for photos. My dress was a one-of-a-kind Italian lace dress with short train that bussled purchased at Wolsfelts Bridal. I live in the city but could not find anything that was unique until I went to Wolsfelts in Aurora. I purchased the espresso chiffon bridesmaids dresses there as well which were beautiful and comfortable. - The Wedding Dress
I didn't want the traditional pew bows so my talented aunt created several one-of-a-kind hand made pew bows. Bows were made of wired cream mesh with handmade silk ribbon flowers in my wedding colors of sienna and espresso. They were embelished with feathers which were also incorporated into the flower arrangements. They turned out beautifully. - Flowers and Decor
Wedding party at reception with one of our favors, Mardi Gras masks. We surprised our guests with doing a Mardi Gras/French Quarter themed reception. One of the favors brought out during the evening were masks along with the official favor, Mardi Gras beads with attached handmade medallions with our names and wedding date. People are still talking about the reception a year later. It was classy, fun and unique. - The Favors

Jason was fantastic and the quality surpassed all those I reseached. You are truly a star in your own movie. It is not your standard wedding video. He captured those adorable little things that you didn't get to see and you feel like you were a guest at your own wedding.

If you want a totally unique and fun band, Professor John. We had a French Quarter/Mardi Gras themed reception and the guests are still talking about it a year later. Great fun music. No one would sit down the entire night.

Caterers

AEL Catering
Chicago, IL, USA

Chef Andrew Lawrence has become a very good friend since first discovering him in 1998 when I planned my first event here in Chicago. He is fun and creative and your guests won't believe what they are getting. Truly delicious and I find a new craving each time. He is also unbelievable with regards to building menus and presentations around a theme. Wouldn't have trusted my wedding to anyone else and I have worked with some of the best caterers in the city.

Florists

Carl was introduced to me by my friend, an event planner here in Chicago. He was a blast to work with and amazingly creative incorporating unique out-of-the-ordinary elements into the flowers. Everyone raved how spectacular they looked.

Bridal Salons

Wolsfelt's Bridal in Montgomery
1025 S Lincoln Ave
Aurora, IL, United States

I searched the city over looking for something unique but went back to the lovely wedding shop about 45 minutes West of the city near Aurora where I used to buy my formal dresses. I must have found 25 dresses that I liked which before I could barely find one. Very easy to work with and attention to detail with alterations. Well worth the trip.

Photographers

Dan Chen
Chicago, IL dan@chennergy.com, USA

I am an amateur photographer so I was exceptionally critical when it came to selecting a photographer for our wedding. I researched hundreds from the Chicago area and by far Dan stood out the most. When I first talked with him he was scheduled to be at another wedding in NJ the day after so I was very disappointed to not be able to have him because no one else measured up to his creative and rich photos. After another conversation with him we were able to work out a solution for him to make both events. I couldn't be more thrilled. He takes a photojournalist approach and captures those unexpected shots that most wouldn't see. The raw shots were fantastic but what he does with the photos afterwards is nothing short of amazing. He gets an A+ in post-production work. He makes photos pieces of art. We were also able to do an engagement shoot on location with him here in Chicago and what fun and truly unique photos. By far one of the best up-and-coming photographers in the city.
