Officiant:
Rev. Ken Hoopai
Kona, HI, United States"We had 2 officiants. My brother-in-law Chris and Rev. Ken Hoopai. Ken was great. Quite the showman. He blew the conch shell and sang a few songs and played the ukulele. But he didn't know us, so it wasn't very sincere. And that's fine. I get it. We hired him online. That is why I was so glad my brother-in-law was there. He brought the heart."
Wedding Day Beauty Vendor:
Beachcombers Hair salon
Kona, HI, USA"Joanie and Mindy opened the shop two hours early to accommodate our mid-morning wedding! (Appts. for Bride, Mom and Sister) It was tough b/c I sent a picture of the style I wanted but never had the chance to meet prior to the appt. It wasn't exactly like the pic, but it looked really pretty and they were so nice. Overall, all three of us looked great!"

"This is actually a little restaurant on the hillside overlooking the Pacific. We ate breakfast there once and I asked if, when we return for the wedding, we could get married there. They were kind enough to say yes. But it isn't meant for weddings. It is a VERY small place. Our wedding consisted of 11 people and a baby. But it is absolutely amazing. (Regardless of whether you get married there, you have to stop there for breakfast or lunch on the way down to the volcano.) The food is really good and the view is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. They also made our wedding cake w/ lemon and lilikoi. It was delicious! The owners, Jim and Melanie, will never know how much it meant to us. It is a very special place."

"Very nice hotel. Although, I made the reservations months in advance and told them that the rooms were for a wedding party, they put us on a lower floor. Out of 26 floors, we were on #6. It would have been nice to be higher up. The view of the ocean and Diamond Head is awesome."

"Stay here if you can. Yes there are chickens, and it is true that you can't swim at the beach that is right there because of sharks, but it is so relaxing and beautiful. The air smells like orange blossoms. (pikake?)"
