Unfortunately we didn't spend too much time on Maui so I can't recommend too much. We didn't do skydiving. On Maui I remember we spent most of the time in Lahaina and Makena just taking it easy. But my wife and I both agreed that it was our favorite of the islands. We had our wedding in Maui, so our our friends and family were their with us. We booked a bus trip to Hana for everyone. That was ok. A bit touristy. Maui was the only part of the trip where we planned ahead. A few day after the wedding we all parted ways and explorer Hawaii separately.

Going from island to island, we basically relied on hotwire to make hotel reservations an car rentals only days before we arrived at each location. It worked out pretty well.

In Kauai, we did a The Kalalau Trail and camped out on the beach. It was one of the most memorable experiences. The scenery was beautiful (like in lost). Though the hike was extremely grueling especially when carrying a ton of gear. But if you decide to do any overnight camping trips, be sure to get a permit from the park service as soon as you arrive in hawaii. In Kauai, we also did a catamaran day excursion which took us to the napali coast to snorkel. That was great. We were told that that and taking a helicopter tour was the only way to explorer that part of the island.

We regret not spending more time in Maui. Two things we will definitely do next time are zipline (for my wife) and skydiving (for me). I recently found out there's an extremely long zipline tour in maui that's takes hours to complete where two people go on parallel lines.
