"Occupying 30 acres inside Piedmont Park, the grounds contain acres of display gardens, including a 2-acre interactive children's garden; a hardwood forest with walking trails; the Fuqua Conservatory, which has unusual and threatened flora from tropical and desert climates; and the award-winning Fuqua Orchid Center, with a spectacular collection of tropical and high-elevation orchids. "One of Atlanta's highest profile and most recognizable companies is CNN, the major cable television and online news source for much of the world. Located in the heart of downtown, CNN draws many visitors, who are familiar with the CNN studios from their TV screens and who wish to tour the Center. CNN welcomes such visitors, with tours given daily. Items on the itinerary includes the main control room, which gives a realistic behind-the-scenes look at news production. There is also an interactive exhibit area, an up-close study of special effects techniques and a special presentation that highlights other networks within the Turner Broadcasting: TBS, TNT and the Cartoon Network. Tours begin every 20 minutes, take 45 minutes and involve eight flights of stairs. Please be advised that children under 6 years of age may not participate. As tours often sell out, reservations (which are not accepted for Thanksgiving, Christmas Day or Easter) are recommended and may be made by calling 1-877-4CNNTour or 404-827-2300. Same-day reservations are not available and online reservations must be made 48 hours in advance, Mondays-Fridays from 8:30AM to 4PM EST. "he Georgia Aquarium, located in Atlanta, Georgia at Pemberton Place, is billed as the "world's largest aquarium" with more than 8.1 million US gallons (30,662 m³; 30,661,835 liters) of marine and fresh water housing more than 100,000 animals of 500 different species. The aquarium's notable specimens include four young whale sharks (Alice, Trixie, Yushan, and Taroko) and four beluga whales (Nico, Natasha, Marina, and Maris). Funded mostly by a $250 million donation from Home Depot founder Bernie Marcus, the aquarium was built on a 20 acre (81,000 m²; 8 ha) site north of Centennial Olympic Park in downtown Atlanta. Marcus credited his 60th birthday dinner at the Monterey Bay Aquarium in 1990 as among the inspirations behind his desire to build an aquarium in Atlanta."

"This museum's permanent collection includes 19th- and 20-century American works, including many by African-American artists. It also displays contemporary art. The building itself is a work of art; the American Institute of Architects listed the sleek structure, designed by Richard Meier, among the 10 best works of American architecture of the 1980s. An expansion designed by Renzo Piano opened in 2005. At this writing, a three-year partnership with the Louvre Museum in Paris was scheduled to begin in late 2006, making available hundreds of works from the Parisian museum's collection. On the third Friday of every month, the museum is open until 10 PM."
