"Mary recommends Oakland as a great place to go if you're up for an attraction of a different kind ... See the beautiful, intriguing monuments and gardens and quirky history that give Oakland its distinctive character. Golf great Bobby Jones and *Gone With the Wind* author Margaret Mitchell are buried here, as well as Atlanta mayors, Georgia governors, Civil War generals, and more. Oakland is essentially an outdoor museum of Atlanta’s history. Walking tours every Saturday evening.
