This South Beach institution has been serving the best stone crabs on earth since 1913, long before South Beach was a hotspot. Joe's, according to the Zagat Survey, is Miami's #1 Most Popular restaurant, and for good reason. It is only open from October until Mother's Day and, during this period, serves 200 tons of stone crabs. The key lime pie is also the real thing. Be prepared to wait (or, in typical Miami fashion, discreetly slip some cash to the maitre'd -- we aren't kidding). Otherwise, the lines are shortest around 5 pm. Reservations are not accepted.

There’s “never a dull moment” at this snug eatery in the Grove featuring “first-rate” re-creations of French bistro fare and an “entertaining” owner and staff adding “vibrancy” to the scene; the “close tables” and a perennially “packed house” are part of the appeal and may make you forget you’re in Florida – not “Paris.”

Charming “beach bums” for over a decade is this Coconut Grove haven where “old salts” and “kids” kick back before a “spectacular” marinaside setting; though the burgers and seafood are “nothing to write home about”, and it’s best to “enjoy the view since you won’t see any servers for a long time”, at least you can’t go wrong with lots of “cold beer.”

“Everyone from high-society types to drag queens” makes a pilgrimage to this “lively” late-night Little Havana “landmark” to “rub elbows with politicians”, chow down “cheap” Cuban eats or simply “discover the wonders of café con leche” in a “huge”, “kitschy” complex; even those who quip “it’s a tourist trap” (with so much “gold and mirrors” “you really ought to be wearing sunglasses”) agree that “everybody should eat here at least once.”
