International Spy Museum - Zola

The International Spy Museum is a museum dedicated to the field of espionage located in the Penn Quarter neighborhood of Washington, DC, and one block west of the Gallery Place-Chinatown Metro station. A unique feature of the museum is its controlled entry, where visitors have 5 minutes to memorize details of one of 16 spy profiles they are to assume (fictitious name, age, place of birth, destination, etc.) before they are allowed to proceed into the exhibit area. Later, while touring the museum, visitors may test themselves at an interactive display on how well they remember the details of their selected spy identity. They may also be stopped occasionally by museum guides acting as "police" and "questioned" about their assumed identity. Adjacent to the museum complex is the upscale restaurant Zola.

National Zoo

The National Zoological Park is a part of the Smithsonian Institution, and is a 163-acre zoological park set amid Rock Creek Park in the heart of Washington DC. Open to the public 364 days a year, the zoo is home to 2,000 individual animals of nearly 400 different species. The zoo's best known residents are the giant pandas, Tian Tian, Mei Xiang, and their cub, Tai Shan. The Zoo is one of Washington's and the Smithsonian's most popular tourist destinations. It also happens to be one of our favorite DC destinations!
