Half Moon Bay Wedding In August
Half Moon Bay, CA, USA, August, 2008
"It was foggy and chilly in Half Moon Bay, which was great, because people didn't overheat, and there weren't hundreds of people there for recreation. The marina, beaches, and wilderness are very picturesque. It is close to SF and the Peninsula, so many guests could drive, but unlike SF, parking was plentiful and free."

Ashley and I met and spoke several times before the wedding. We gave her a list and a couple of likes/dislikes, and she put together a great set that had people dancing and stomping and really enjoying themselves. We had some strange requests, but she came through with the Marseillaise, the German versions of some Beatles songs, and the Russian National Anthem. She had a great attitude and even made me three CDs afterwards. I don't know about the other DJs at Fog City, but I'm so glad I ended up with Ashley.

The gardens are very picturesque, and Linda (the proprietor) has helped with hundreds of weddings, so she kept ours moving smoothly and on schedule. I felt relieved just knowing that she would be there, helping to move things along. It went swimmingly.

We had to go back and forth a bunch before the wedding, because we had a surprising 20% of our guests RSVP vegetarian, and they don't have a lot of veggie options besides pasta and pizza, both of which were already on the banquet menu. I asked them to modify a bit one of their appetizers, and they made it beautiful. Everyone had a great time (they kept the wine flowing) AND I got so many complements about our food. How many people get complements on their wedding food? It was great.
