"This is a cute sushi/hawaiian grille restaurant in La Jolla. If you go on a Wednesday... you will get the "all you can eat" special. That includes all sushi (not sashimi though), rolls (rolls that aren't market price of course... they have a large selection of rolls) and certain appetizers. Go and eat till you are waaay full. You can easily eat $100 worth of food for the 'all you can eat' price of $25pp! Try the 'Rock Lobster' roll, the 'Coconut Dynamite Bowl' (mixture of crab, shrimp, fish, pineapple and tomatoes broiled off in a coconut aioli sauce, and served over bed of rice) and the 'Stuffed Tomatoes' (spicy scallops wrapped with raw tuna)! Sooo good!"

"The Americana is an outdoor/indoor cafe that has great selections for breakfast! They also have nice lunches and dinner as well. If you go, order a Bloody Mary. They are nice and spicy. Yummy. It's also a 2 minute drive from where we live."

"This is probably the best pizza in San Diego. There are only a handful of places in San Diego county that have real "new york" pizza and this is one of them."

"George's is an excellent and beautiful restaurant that overlooks the ocean in beautiful La Jolla. It's pricey, but worth it. There are three distinct dining experiences with spectacular ocean views at Georges at the Cove in La Jolla Village. George's California Modern is a sophisticated but relaxed indoor environment that has an inventive California cuisine menu that changes daily. With a more casual bistro menu, the Ocean Terrace has the region's best rooftop dining, while George's Bar gives casual diners a choice of inside or outside."

"What can I say about this restaurant... but WOW. The portions are HUGE and the breakfast/brunch is great (you must go for this). Don't eat anything before you go though... and you'll see why when you get there. The music is kind of loud here, so if that's not your style, then you may not like it... but it's totally worth it and it's fun! You can't make reservations either :("

"There are 3 different restaurants and 4 cocktail lounges in this cool restaurant. Jack's restaurants can be pricey, however, if you go downstairs to "Jack's Grille," you can sit by the lounge/firepit and enjoy a few cocktails while eating some appetizers without breaking the bank. Also, if you go to the mid-level 'beach bar' during happy hour, beer and well drinks are discounted!"

"Jake's Del Mar is another one of our favorite restaurants. If you love seafood - this is the restaurant to go to! Their food is amazing and the view is great since it's right on the beach. Ask to sit at a window seat if the wait isn't too long. It's worth it."

"This is one of our favorites! Just Fabulous is a very small restaurant in the Kensington area. It's very cute and unique - but most importantly... it has delicious food. Their Kobe Beef burger is Anonymous's favorites. I like the Thai Chicken Pasta or the Kobe Beef Bolognese."

"If you like John Harvards... you will like Karl Strauss. They brew their own beer here and their food is pretty good as well."

"Miguel's is a mexican restaurant that is located in the courtyard of the El Cordova Hotel, directly across the street from the Hotel Del Coronado (you should walk over and take a look at this historic hotel. it's huge and the beach is beautiful). The main restaurant is outside on the patio and it's always packed. Expect at least a 45 minute wait on a popular night. If you have time, put your name on the list and walk next door to get a mojito at the Brigantine!"

"This is the outdoor cafe portion of Pacific Del Mar (with a totally different menu). They have tasty breakfasts and lunches... and course, a great view. Pacifica Breeze Café has quickly become a celebrated coastal gathering spot for casual, outdoor dining. Overlooking a glittering Pacific Ocean and the ever charming Village of Old Del Mar, the eclectic bistro-style cafe draws young and old alike to its large, sun-filled patio for breakfast and lunch on Del Mar Plaza's mid-level. Devoted enthusiasts of the Breeze sip coffee and espresso favorites, indulge in hearty breakfast fare, or delight in tantalizing soups, salads and sandwiches during lazy afternoon hours, with a full range of micro brews, wines and cocktails available."

"This is a place where you can order fresh seafood for lunch - and buy some to take home. It's always busy! The scallop sandwich is sooo good. Point Loma Seafoods branched out and began selling hot food once made only for the employees. As with their standards of quality and freshness, it all began with just the simplest idea. "The freshest thing in town" was made."

"Roy's is an Asian Fusion/Hawaiian restaurant in the La Jolla area. They have creative drinks and delicious seafood. Each evening you’ll find a tantalizing range of appetizers, entrées, fresh fish dishes and desserts."

"We've only been here once, but it's a cool outdoor skybar on top of the Marriott in the downtown area. The happy hour prices are nice and the view is great. You can see all of Petco park from the skybar."

"This is a San Diego wine bar that we thought was really cool. Their philosophy is : to combine wine buying with wine tasting in a casual and fun atmosphere. So, you can sip, nibble, or drink at our traditional Zinc-countered bar while shopping for affordable, off-the-beaten-path wines in the retail store. The focus is on unpretentious wine exploration. You can buy wines by the glass here, or venture to the back where you can find a bottle, pay a small corkage fee and sit and order a board of artisan cheese. It's very social and they place music while you chat with your buddies and sip some wine."

"This is a very popular spot for tourists because it has everything rolled into one. It is the nation's largest urban cultural park. This restaurant has good food, creative drinks... and arguably the best mojitos in San Diego."

"It's not exactly 'affordable'... (ahem) however, we've heard it's an amazing course. If you can do it... why not? Honoured with Golf Magazine's 2004 Gold Medal Resorts Award and #18 on Golf Digest's Top 75 Golf Resorts, Four Seasons Resort Aviara Golf Club offers one of the finest golf facilities available in southern California. Aviara's memorable 18-hole coastal layout was designed by Arnold Palmer. The 7,007-yard, par-72 course is sculpted around the natural topography, with water hazards positioned as visual extensions of the lagoon. The club includes a 32,000 square foot (3,000-square-metre) two-story Spanish colonial clubhouse with a complete golf shop."
