Hi!

I'm looking at getting married this November in Livermore. I was curious how the weather was during your wedding. I'm looking at having the ceremony outdoors at 4:30 and the reception indoors. What did you do?

Liz,
Congratulations! The weather during our wedding weekend was nice. A little rainy the day before, but clear and dry the day of the actual ceremony and reception. It was a little chilly, so I recommend that you suggest sweaters and wraps for your guests. Our ceremony was outside in the early afternoon, with reception to follow indoors.
Our budget was tight as well as timing for the day's set-up. We had a back up plan to have the ceremony indoors at one end of our reception room, move everyone out to the courtyard for cocktails, so they could ready the remaining tables. The room had dividers that hid away when necessary. If this confuses you let me know, I can try to explain it a little better.
You may want to look into outside heaters and/or a tent for a backup plan. Be sure to find out if your site will take care of these or if you need to rent them on your own.
If this is too much, I'm sorry I work in the industry so I can get a little too involved. I'm hope this helps, any thing else please feel free to ask.

Thanks for all the great feedback!! We actually decided to go with May of next year, because I think it will be easier all around. Plus the weather should be really nice!

"The Martinelli Event Center is a beautiful place to have any event. We held our wedding ceremony and reception there. It made it so much easier for all our of out of town guests. They allow one event at a time. So you have a few different options for your needs. We used the whole place. The terrace for the ceremony, the courtyard for the cocktail hour, and a 'ballroom' for the reception. The catering was amazing! The down side was they started cleaning up the room and setting up for the next day before we even had our last dance. Be aware the coordinators will try to make extra cash off of you for being your 'wedding planner'. For a Bride and Groom that work in the hospitality/food industry, you can find someone cheaper that does more."

"The Courtyard by Marriott, Livermore is a convenient, location. They have a friendly and helpful staff. We used their free shuttle service to get guests to and from our wedding site. (with-in a 10 mile radius). They recently remodeled their lobby. One suggestion is to make sure they know your event time. They tried to tell our guests the wrong time for our event. Although, our guests really enjoyed the breakfast."
