Hi! Congrats on your upcoming wedding! It's crunch time now huh? Where are you having your wedding? I had an excellent experience at the JW salon. I don't live in Savannah, so I didn't have a trial hair experiment before hand so I was nervous. But the girl that did my hair did an excellent job. it was perfect! I have thin, fine hair, but she managed to make it look great. It was just me, and one of my bridesmaids that had our hair done and the place was quiet and relaxing - exactly what I needed with all the stress around that time. They gave us a complimentary glass of wine too so that was a bonus. I don't remember the name of the girl who did my hair. But they booked me with her because I told them I would not be able to do a trial, and the other wedding updo person requires a trial. Hi Jennifer,
Thanks for contacting me. We had a wonderful time at Bryson Hall. The place was beautiful and didn't need much in the way of decorations. We were planning our wedding long distance too and had a wedding planner. We did not use the wedding planners from Bryson Hall, but if I had it to do over again, I would have. I spoke with Linda, the owner, a couple times and she seemed very nice. The only problem that we ran into with Bryson Hall was the cost of the place. Our wedding planner told us it was $4,000 to rent the place for the day. But there was a special going on at the time that she never told us about. So we had to fight a bit, but we ended up getting the place for $1,500. And she tried to charge us per chair ($12 a piece) but that was also included in the price of the hall. It's a long story - we had a lot of problems with our wedding planner, so whatever you do, don't use Romantic Weddings of Savannah. The owner of that company is crazy. Our wedding planner handled all the catering etc etc so I can't even tell you who we used but it was really good. There were a lot of things that we organized ourselves - like the music, cake, center pieces etc so if you want to know about anything else, you can e-mail me at [email hidden (log in to view)] because I don't check this e-mail address much. I could go on all day about wedding stuff because I love it. :)

Hi Rachel,
I just responded to your post, I think. I'm getting around to checking this e-mail account, which I don't use much. We had about 80 guests, and there was plenty of room. I can imagine if you had 150 or something, it would be crowded. The dropped ceiling didn't bother me - we had our tables set up under that section, so it made dinner feel more intimate. Then our band, and dancing was out in the larger space. Philadelphia huh? I'm from West Chester (but live in Knoxville TN now). So we were also planning our wedding long distance, which was hard. We had a wedding planner and she showed us Bryson Hall after our first choice out on Tybee fell through. We didn't want to have our reception in a restaurant or hotel, and this was an affordable option. It was a perfect day for us. Do you have a photographer lined up yet? If not, I just want to recommend Allison Reisz. She's absolutely amazing.

Thanks, Amanda. Your input is very helpful. I'll check out Allison Reisz since we are still looking for photographers. Jeremy, my fiance is from West Chester-- small world.
