C AND D'S WEDDING
April, 2009 in Bald Head Island"Here is a picture of a few guests lining the edge of the tent to stay warm. Don't make the same mistake we did for our wedding reception... Don't use Bald Head Island Limited."

"I am writing this so that future couples and event planners do not make the same mistake that we made. My husband and I chose Bald Head Island Limited for our reception catering because they hold the rights to the Tent Pavilion which is where we wanted our reception. This ended up being an unwise decision. We should have known from the planning and gone with a different vendor - but the BHI Limited reputation was good so we figured they would at least do the minimum to make a good reception. We were wrong! The weather was just as forecasted to be - clear with a normal temperature of 70 during the day and 50 at night. They stated to us in the planning that because our wedding was in early April, they would be able to bring the sides of the tent down and have heaters to accommodate our guests to keep them from being cold. They did NEITHER. They were completely unprepared for weather – even though it is the same weather they had on Bald Head for the 3 weeks prior to the event. When we got to our reception, the catering manager stated that she did not want to bring the sides of the tent down because "the wind wasn't blowing from that direction". (There was at least one flap on each side of the tent that was opened.) Then for some reason, the catering manager for BHI Limited disappeared... so my matron of honor ended up taking over and managed the rest of the event. My guests ended up STANDING TO EAT THEIR DINNER - lining the sides of the tent with the women wearing their date's jackets because it was too cold to eat at their tables! The elderly and young children had to leave early because it was just too cold. It has now been 4 weeks since our event and the BHI Limited COO will not return any phone calls. Please do not make the same mistake we did... go with a different vendor."
