I would call and check their availability and prices before you make a decision. you could always try contacting Carrie (is you haven't already) and see what she could work out for you at Avenue. Hi! McLoones was a little on the expensive side, however they did have options for that were about $120 or $130 a head. I did absolutely love the location, and they were amaxing. One thing to note was on a Saturday night, they had a minimum number of people, which I believe was 175. So if you have a smaller turn out, you end up paying for 175 people anyway. Luckily we were past the minimum. We didn't have the ceremony there so I'm sorry I don't have anything to add there. I can tell you that we looked at a few other places that were nice-our second choice was Oyster Point in Red Bank. I also liked the Breakers in Sea Girt (but the event woman was really snotty), and I have a friend that was married at the channel club in monmouth beach, and he really liked it. Ocean Place has several ballrooms, but they are pretty much your standard Bar Mitzah type ballroom, and they smelled musty. for things I would do differently, I would have worn my hair up, since it blew all over the place on the beach :)

we had 180 guests, so we decided to open the whole room for the cocktail hour. our wedding was in july so it was very hot, and this worked out extremely well - whole room was already set, guests could mingle around the bar and food, but also sit down to eat - since the cocktail hour is heavy apps. We were also concerned since they said everyone would have to leave the room and go down to the beach while they turned the room, and we had several elderly guests. This worked out well, I would recommend it. hope this helps, and best of luck withthe rest of your planning.
