Question:Hi,I found your wedding on wedding mapper. How many guests did you have? The seating capacity says 180 people. But I'm nervous it does not accommodate this many with round tables (versus long tables) and a dance floor area. What are your thoughts? Thanks.
Response from the couple:Hey there. No problem! We had around 125 people at round tables. The 180 ppl is definitely based on rect tables! 15 tables plus an 8 person head table fit very comfortably. With a decent size dance floor and space for buffet etc. You could probably fit in a couple more if you squeezed. Id say prob 140 to 150 people at the absolute max for round tbls. Hope this helps! It was an awesome place to get married...we had the ceremony by the lake and they even set up park benches for outdoor ceremony seating for us. (You have to ask the maintenance guys to do this!) For a small fee u can spend the whole day before decorating the hall too! The only downside is the size if u have a bigger wedding. Also dont book in the fall after labour day since the rides will all be taken down...the amusement pk would have been great for pictures. Any more questions plz ask! We loved our wedding there it was very beautiful.
Response:Hey, thanks so much for writing back. Our number is around 160 including us (10 person head table). So that makes me nervous to book there. I really do like all the wood work and being able to decorate on your own. What did you do for a bar area - rent the coffee house room too and set up a the counter or rent a portable bar and put it in the dance hall? Thanks again.
Response from the couple:Hey, that sounds like a lot of people to be honest...for that space. That's 19 tables. Maybe if you had no dance floor until later...and moved some tables away after dinner to make room for it? I'll see if I can upload a few pictures of how we laid it out and decorated... We used the wood bar they have already in the dance hall. It sits right in the back corner by the double doors to the main pavilion area. But there is no water access in the dance hall room, so you'd have to tell your caterer that. They put a fridge in behind the bar for us too. We did not rent the coffee house room, but our caterers used it for prep space. I'm not sure if this was actually allowed by the city, or if the maintenance people just let them do it anyway! If you did rent it tho you could maybe set up your cake table and extras like that in there instead to make room for more tables... sounds tight to me tho. However, I will tell you we invited 150 to our wedding and only 120 actually said yes and came. So you might have fewer people than you think in the end... good luck!
Response:Thanks again for sharing. Looks beautiful. It will give me something to think about. I may have more questions down the road :)
