Hi Suzy,
Island Way Grill would be perfect for 14 people. It's a great restaurant - great food and service with an "upscale tropical atmosphere". We got married in June and had the ceremony at 7pm and then dinner at 8pm. It's about 10 minutes from Sand Key to Island Way. Our guests said that the food was the best they'd ever had at a wedding!

Our ceremony was about 60-90 min before sunset so we had time after the ceremony to take some pictures on the beach with the sun setting behind us before we went to dinner.

One thing that I would be sure to keep in mind is that April is a very busy time here in Clearwater because it's during spring break time. That means the beach area will probably be very crowded with people and hotels may book up quickly.

We were thinking of havingour ceremony around 7 also, I must say your profile picture is stunning!

We did hear that April is a busy time in the US so booked our accomodation early!

Can I ask what sort of food was served at your reception?

Hi Chloe. Weather for us was great. Ceremony was right before sunset and then we were able to take pictures right after ceremony when sun was setting. Any earlier in the day would have been way too hot. If you want a daytime ceremony, I would do it indoors somewhere. It was breezy on the beach, but, not too bad at all. However, strong wind is definitely a possibility as well as rain. Have a "plan B" if you are planning anything outdoors. Our reception was at Island way grill and I wouldn't change it for anything. It was great and was our 'plan b' if we needed it. Food and atmosphere were awesome.
We did the ceremony through a company that plans and executes ceremonies, called "weddings on a whim". There are other companies that do the same thing. Just google something like 'clearwater beach weddings' and you'll find several. They range anywhere from a couple hundred dollards to a couple thousand depending on the set up.
