We did exactly that- both ceremony and reception at the golf course. We rented a tent and had an outdoor ceremony to the back of the dining room. It was beautiful. Cocktail hour was held by the gazebo and it was perfect.

Food was great (they threw in some extras/upgrades, so be sure to ask!). Service was impeccable, and we had rave reviews on food and service from our attendees (190 in the Aberdeen room- perfect!).

It was already set for the reception bc we rented a tent for outside (we would have gone tentless if the weather had been promising). I'm pretty sure they can have it turned over for you during cocktail hour (60-90 minutes).

We got an upgrade on the dessert, and fancier appetizers (the wrapped veggies rather than regular veggies). We did veg option, then offered roasted chicken or prime rib (we reduced the size of the pr to 8 from 10 oz if I remember that correctly so the chicken and beef options were the same... No one mentioned any issues with the size and we saved a couple bucks per pr plate that way). I kept track of responses for preferences on our invites and made up individual place adds with different colored ribbons representing veg/chicken/pr. It was cute and I loved it.

That's very helpful. I wanted to do the tent but that is extra cost I didn't want to put out. Your wedding pictures are stunning. You looked great on your wedding day and it seems like you've had a lot of fun.
I love Milton, I want to live there when I get married and I love everything about Glencairn! We are having our wedding on Sept 2 and I am not sure if the club will be busy with golfers. Was it for u?
How was the hotel? Would you recommend the photographer?

We reserved the tent, then when the weather forecast looked bad, we finalized it. Might be worth looking into? There were offers around, but you hardly notice them. They weren't there when we had photos done (around 6pm?) and I didn't run into any during our ceremony or reception, either. You really are treated like a VIP by the staff, and people understand its your big day, so I wouldn't worry about it being an issue. :)

Hotel was fine... Nothing to get too excited about. We upgraded to the presidential suite bc there was no ac in the other room we had reserved. Hat was a pain in the butt, but I big deal. We arranged limo service for our guests To/from our venue so that was nice (we paid for that, wasn't part of the hotel room reservation).

Our photographer was wonderful, but her prices have gone up considerably and I'm not sure I would be using her if we were to be married now. It's a lot of money, but we do have some wonderful memories of our day to show for it. :)

I wasn't able to book the Holiday inn this afternoon but found spots in best western.
Thanks for the advice on the photographer. I have few options and I will have to keep shopping around. Given it's sunday, I want a good bargin.
Do you mind if we stay in touch as I am sure I will have more questiosn.
By the way,you wedding colour inspired me. I origianlly wanted purple but nothing could suite that room better than blue so I might change it. I only have my twin sister standing in the wedding.
