Soul Dog

107 Main Street
Poughkeepsie, NY, United States

"Anonymous used to live around the block from this ridiculous place. It is awesome, provided that your definition of "awesome" is expansive enough to include a chicken hot dog with spicy peanut sauce and cucumbers on it. Also, get their fries. And, they have Cel-Ray."

Zorona

"This is still our favorite falafel in the damn world. Also good baklava."

Coffee:

Cubby Hole Coffee House

44 Raymond Avenue
Poughkeepsie, NY, United States

"There may be some other cheese-ass coffee shop in the neighborhood now but this place is the genuine article - you can tell because it always seems to be on the verge of going out of business. But they are great. Their lattes and flavored coffee concoctions are delicious and ENORMOUS - it's like a bowl with a little handle."

Attraction:

Attraction:

Waryas Park

"A nice little park on the river right between the Mid-Hudson and Poughkeepsie Railroad bridges. A great place to chill out for a while when the weather's nice, and a place close to our hearts. Maybe if you ask, we'll tell you the somewhat ridiculous story."

"Head over to "The Dutch," as we used to call it, for that classic college-bar experience. It's less than a block from campus."

Bars:

River Station Restaurant

1 North Water Street
Poughkeepsie, NY, United States

"See the real Poughkeepsie if you stop in here for a drink or a bite to eat. It's right on the water, so you'll get some good views if you're on the river side."

Bars:

Shadows On the Hudson

176 Rinaldi Boulevard
Poughkeepsie, NY, United States

"Enjoy a drink or a meal at Shadows and you'll also see some amazing views of the Hudson River - it's on a bluff overlooking the water. It's probably the hottest restaurant in town, for what it's worth."
