June, 2008 in Gainesville

"Our wedding in Gainesville, GA turned out to be the best party ever just like we wanted! The biggest drawback with a bunch of out of town guests was the hike from the airport... BUT it also kept everyone together for all pre and post-wedding events. Gainesville was perfectly peaceful with few restrictions (like in Atlanta), so we were able to make our wedding our own. It was the perfect weekend!"

Cakes/Candies Vendor:

Rosalyn Wilson

Gainesville, GA, USA

"Most gorgeous wedding cake I've EVER seen! Rosalyn only had a picture from the web that I sent her, and she knocked it out of the park... I wanted to cry when I saw the cake, and to be frank the cake wasn't that important to me initially. In the end it was my favorite aspect and EVERYONE commented on and took pictures of it. The perfect centerpiece for our reception! You MUST call Rosalyn... she doesn't have a website and doesn't have a "big shop" but she's the BEST. (404) 720-7741"

Almasy Photo

Gainesville, GA, USA

"Anne and Dan Almasy are top notch. Technically and photojournalistically they captured our wedding beautifully and almost perfectly. I can't say enough about what great photographers they are and I'd hire them for my wedding again. My one complaint is they didn't get all of the "traditional portraits" I wanted and a few of those were VERY important to me. I don't have a pic with each of my bridesmaids, and my husband doesn't have a pic with his best man. I also don't have a picture with just my immediate family... not sure how that could have been left out??? BUT- they are AWESOME photographers and captured all the best moments. Just make sure you are very clear on what and who is important to get a photo with. All around, I highly, highly recommend!"

Gainesville First United Methodist Church

Gainesville, GA 30506, US

"We loved getting married in this church. We are not members of the church since we do not live in the area, but we loved how we felt "hugged" when you walk in the sanctuary. Such a peaceful, gorgeous and different location and the nicest people to help coordinate our wedding day. Plus, the organist is amazing and a true professional. Only drawback: no pictures can be taken in the sanctuary during the ceremony for religious purposes, but the photographers still got great shots from the narthex- we also recreated the walk down the aisle afterwards."

Smithgall Arts Center

331 Spring St SW
Gainesville, GA 30501, US

"We hosted our wedding in Gainesville because that is where Smithgall is located. I fell in love with this venue from the start- indoor/outdoor and flexible with all vendors I wanted to use. Gladys was wonderful to work with. The atrium is gorgeously built around the old train depot providing elegance with a feeling of history, and it's quite unique with the train out front. We couldn't ask for better."
