Hello! I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have. Coincidentally, we live in Frisco so I might be more able to answer any questions about getting married in the area. We had a guest list of 105. The ceremony was held down by the sound on their private beach. We worried that there wouldn't be enough room, but set up chairs down by the beach and a bamboo arch, and it was perfect. This allowed us to have cocktail hour by the pool and the reception in the back yard. Ocean Atlantic set up the tent in the back yard. I would highly suggest getting the sidewalls for a tent. The wind especially in the evening is unpredictable. We did not get the sidewalls on the tent, and my dad rigged something on the windward side which worked great, but it would have been easier to have ordered them. Even if you only get two sidewalls, it seems to me beneficial. I believe I still have a site plan and of course pictures of the reception if you would be interested, I'd be happy to send them. Our caterer did a good job on the food, but a guest found one of the staff later that night passed out in the bathroom. Nice, huh. Good food, but a bit unprofessional. I have a friend who works for the Inn on Pamlico who is a wonderful chef. Had he not been in the wedding, I would have used him. Ocean Atlantic Rentals rented us our tent, chairs, glasses, plates, etc. They also rent flatware and tablecloths, but I was able to purchase them from Sam's for slightly more than they rented it for. I have a dozen white table linens for 120" tables which sat 10 people and enough flatware for slightly over 100 which I would be happy to lend out for 1/2 the price Ocean Atlantic Rentals offers it for. Hi thank you SO much for the nice response. Did I ask you two questions? I had two responses to two different questions but they seem to be from the same person.
Anyway, a wedding down by the sound sounds great. Nice compromise. My guest list will be about 50-60, so that seems do-able.
Who was your caterer??? Oh my, passed out in the bathroom! That's crazy!
Good to know about handicap accessibility as well. That is definitely my biggest concern.
Thank you for your kind offer of flatware and linens, that is so nice of you. If I do indeed decide to have my wedding there I will definitely take you up on that (unless my caterer provides that---I'm surprised yours didn't!).
What is the weather like there in October? Would you say it is colder/windier than in other areas of NC? I picked October because I didn't want it to be too hot.
Any other bits of advice or pics you can send would be great. Perhaps when I come down there to look at the house I might be able to meet you!

The Love Boat was a great place to get married. And I would say that mostly it is handicapped accessible. There is of course the elevator, the house is spacious, and the grounds are fairly easily navigated. I also had my heart set on a beach wedding, but this choice worked so much better for us. We had people in our family who were also handicapped and the sand was not a good option. The other major downfall of getting married on the beach is that you cannot set anything up on the beach so it may be very disorganized and it is impossible for anyone to hear the ceremony. We got married down on the sound on the private beach at the Love Boat. It was perfect because we were able to run electric to have music, set up a bamboo arch and enough chairs for family, it was perfect for us. This allowed us to have cocktail hour by the pool while we were taking pictures and the catering staff could set up the reception under the tent in the backyard and the dj in the gazebo. I would be happy to answer any questions you have about the Love Boat or the area for that matter. We live in Frisco so may be able to help you answer a few questions. We really liked the Love Boat as a site for our wedding. I always wanted a beach wedding, but this was perfect. We had the ceremony on the private beach on the sound. It is easier for some of our older relatives to get to, we were able to run electricity for the music, and were able to have limited seating. We had the cocktail hour by the pool and the reception in the backyard under a tent. If you do rent a tent make sure to get the sidewalls. They are not included and there is almost always wind in Hatteras. At least get two sides covered for the windward sides.
