Hi Alison! Sorry for the delay -we actually just got back from vacationing in SSB (we live in Massachusetts & my parents are residents, so it'll be a vaca destination probably every year :o)).
Our wedding was directly on the beach -lucky for us, it poured for several hrs before, which cleared the beach of people & footprints! Do you have an officiant? I would strongly suggest Beach People Weddings (for ceremony & photos). They really know what they're doing, and they're kind and gentle people. I contacted them a few times via email and met them the day of the ceremony (as I was walking down the "aisle!"). They've dealt with every sort of situation, so you should feel completely comfortable in their hands. Don't forget to get your marriage license in NC! (we got ours in Bolivia). For dinner afterwards, we went to Beck's Seafood in Calabash -a small
family owned restaurant, they set up the tables with decorations & we had our own room -no extra charge! Shaun Bellamy and her husband own the place -and she is just a doll. It was very low-key. I chose a few selections from
the menu, then she printed them up for guests to chose from. Check out the other vendors (especially for cakes --we got another cake from them last week -we LOVE their cakes! and it's not too far from SSB -about 15 min away in Longs, SC).
How many people are you having for guests? The ceremony was only about 15 minutes long and we had about 20 people, so everyone just stood around (smoe even saw a group of dolphins swimming just off shore as I was walking down!)
