WASHINTON WEDDING IN JUNE

June, 2007 in Washinton, DC
Pink_ask_a_question

Ceremony: Epiphany Parish
Reception: American News Women's Club

Caterer:

Ridgewell's Caterer

5525 Dorsey Ln
Bethesda, MD, United States

"Eveyone RAVED about the food. (I had a small plate and it was a blur.) But everyone remarked how good it was. We had a variety of passed hor'dourves and later some heavy appetizers for our afternoon reception. Also, they used smallish serving plates on the buffets and switched them out repeatedly, so there were no unappetizing, mutilated plates sitting there, which was very nice. i know they are pricey, but the service and food were really great. They consistently rank as one of the top caterers in the DC area for a reason!"

Ceremony:

Epiphany Parish

2712 Dumbarton St Nw
Washington, DC 20007-3321, US

"It is a beautiful small Catholic Church - not for large weddings but looks like old Southwest church or something. We live in NYC, so we had to make special arrangements to get married there - definitely be in touch 6-9 months ahead of time, although didn't seem like a stampead to reserve dates in June. Of course, one should feel comfortable with the priest that is marrying you as well. Not a lot of parking on the streets of Georgetown, so we did vans to and from reception site."

Reception:

American News Women's Club

1607 22nd St Nw
Washington, DC 20008-1921, US

"It's a lovely place for a small reception, or even wedding/reception. (we were married in a nearby Catholic church.) it's basically a nice townhouse in upper northwest and is really inexpensive. When we had our reception there in the summer of 2007, the price was $1600 for the entire day! They are not in the professional space rental business, so the good news is you are definitely the only event of the day and you can be there all day - until 11 pm. We had 50 people and it was the perfect size. We had 4 full sized tables set up and a dance floor. You could definitely get 75 in there if just cocktail tables. As it's near embassy row, all the caterers had worked there before."

Hotel:

"Nice hotel. Everyone seemed to like their big rooms. I must say, reserving a block of rooms was a real pain and no break on price, so we skipped it. But otherwise no real complaints. We have a kid and they hadn't set up her bed when we checked in and it took over hour for them to take care of that. They gave us free continental breakfast because of that, without us complaining. Parking was $10 a day and included unlimited valet service, which was nice."
