NATASHA & TIBOR'S WEDDING

"Hey everyone! We just got married on Friday (August 7th) - WHOO HOO - and have heard nothing but great reviews from our guests. Here's what we did for anyone that wants to know:
We rented a large beach house in Seagrove Beach (18 miles east of Destin) that had a HUGE pool, beach house and pergola (aka gazebo) from Sunday to Sunday and had the wedding on Friday. In the pool area we had a cocktail reception for guests while we were wrapping up pre-wedding photos to save time after the ceremony from everyone waiting on us, then we had the reception after the ceremony and our dancing & yes, even everyone swimming until 5am! The house is listed as "Brown Your Buns, Seagrove Beach, FL" on VRBO.com. It sleeps 20+ adults.
We had a caterer (Mark Clutter, owner of Chefs At Your Door Catering) that rented us tables, linens, and did our food for $26 per person (with a carving station!), we added passed hors d'oeuvres for less than $200 and he also did the wedding & groom's cake. He lets you bring your own liquor (major savings at Walmart Liquor Store in Destin - what! what!) or he can provide it if you choose. He also has this brilliant serving ware that looks china/silver but its plastic so it can be tossed after and it wouldn't break around the pool.
We had a phenomenal DJ (Paul Taylor of Bzar DJ) that kept going until 2am, even though there is a strict noise ordinance at 10pm, because this is the only house in the neighborhood.
We had Karen Ray of Beach Wedding Place handle our ceremony set up (we did benches instead of chairs to save money and ease of people sitting on the beach ($30 each; we did 10 as they seat 5-6 people each) and Karen officiated for us too. There was some miscommunication so we were lucky someone in our group had a portable, charged stereo to play our Ipod with ceremony music but overall she was $1k less than other ceremony coordinators I found.
We also hired Emy of Emy Smith Photography for her 6 hour package - she absolutely rocks. She works with her husband and it was great to have 2 photographers there grabbing all the incredible shots and for under $1k! Can't wait to see the pictures!
We did our own centerpieces (brought vases from GA with us & bought 20 bouquets from Sams) and I was lucky to have a dear friend do our boutonnieres, corsages and bouquets which turned out beautiful!
Finally, we got our nails done at a small nail shop next to Publix in Santa Rosa and had our hair done at A-List Salon on 30A (Debbie rocked the bride's and Nancy rocked our 3 flower girls!).
We had a candy & cereal bar as favors (bought chinese to go boxes off asianideas.com), had personalized fans at the ceremony site to cool off folks, a sheet for people to put their shoes on at the beach and paint brushes to brush the sand off. My family worked our tails off nights before the wedding but it all was perfect.
3 important pieces of advice for those planning their weddings:
(1) confirm all details with your vendors at least a day before, including the address of where the ceremony and reception is. We did this but our vendors were still calling us for directions so (2) have someone the day of handle all communication with guests and vendors and (3) if something goes wrong, say oh well and keep going.
All that matters is that you two say I Do. You need nothing else that day besides your future partner, you and the Marriage License!"

"We had our rehearsal dinner at McGuire's and besides us waiting 40 minutes and then our party of 30 being put in separate booths, we finally made it to a separate room on one long table which was brillant. Thanks to McGuire's always and on our rehearsal dinner night for serving excellent food at reasonable prices and fantastic brewed beer!"
