Hello Elsha and Charles

CONGRATULATIONS!!! My fiancé and I have narrowed our selection down to a few choices and are having a bit of trouble picking our site. We are looking to have a ceremony and reception at the venue, and The View On The Hudson is one of our finalists. We were hoping you might be able to give us your opinion on the overall experience, the response from your guests, and the quality/quantity of the food during the cocktail hour, dinner portion and dessert/wedding cake. We’ve read mixed reviews and it’s tough to filter through all the different things in the blogs because we never know where everyone is coming from. Thank you so much for your help, we really appreciate it!!!

Dear Christian and Dave,

Congratulations on your engagement. Well I could definitely give you my feedback on the View on the Hudson. When my fiancé walked in to the venue I told him 'do not act like you love it '(lol), I went to the restroom and there he was was with Harold smiling!!! Our reception was amazing. They really go out of their way during the cocktail hour. My guest could not believe that there was still more to come on the other side of the doors. They were truly accommodating when our guest arrived earlier than expected they opened the champagne and immediately started pouring. I would advise, if you chose The View to engage in the cocktail hour and mingle with your guest (have the food!). During the reception we were always attended to. Our family and friends had wonderful things to say.
I would just advise you to be organized, be ready to negotiate (during these economic times everything is negotiable). If you have a request to not hesitate to make it clear. The staff are definitely not wedding planners but they are excellent service providers. Have your details in order before the wedding and that day enjoy the venue. I would recommend it despite the small conflict I had with Harold. Other brides that have had their wedding there had things to say about his personality and I thank them, however the day of the wedding I forgot about all of it. My father was very pleased as well as my husband and all of our guest.
