KATHERINE AND ANDREW'S WEDDING
April, 2010 in St Louis
"We got married in University City in April, had our reception at the History Museum.
Every single vendor I went with was chosen with care. As in most cases, my limitation was budget so I knew what my spend limit was for a particular item before I ever went into a meeting and made a point to be honest about this aspect with the vendor. I also made sure I was compatible with them on a personality level, I think that gets forgotton a lot. You are going to be in close contact with the folks representing these companies so make sure they feel like people you want to be spending a lot of time communicating with.
All of the vendors I chose, whether it be by luck or just good judge of quality, were a joy to work with. I never once second guessed their ability to make things happen on time and make them happen well.
It paid off and I could not have been happier."

"I enjoyed every minute of working with Downtime Band. They were so helpful, quickly responded to emails, had de-stressing solutions and ideas, and the final product was as expected. Their performance at our reception was impeccable. Plus... their prices are great too! Really, I could not recommend them enough."
Cakes/Candies Vendor:
Sarah's Cake Shop & Catering
505 Strecker RdBallwin, MO, United States
"Erica from Sarah's designed our cake. I brought (and emailed) her a bunch of my sketches trying to get onto paper what was in my head and she turned it into a masterpiece. She was attentive, patient, and excited to help. When I saw our cake at the wedding I loved it. It also tasted really really really really good."
Florist:
Schnuck's Focus on Design
St. Louis, MO, USA"I worked with Rosalinda from Schnuck's and I have to say, she was a pleasure to interact with. She had great ideas and was incredibly helpful throughout the whole process. The flowers at the reception were everything I expected and guests, to this day, routinely comment on their quality and arrangement. We also came about 10% under budget!!! A nice bonus."

Wedding Day Beauty Vendor:
Dominic Michael Salon

"Samantha did our hair for the wedding. She was so sweet and capable and on time. She is now my regular hair person."
Wedding Fashion Vendor:
Ultimate Bride
1512 So Brentwood BlvdSt Louis, MO, United States
"Ultimate Bride seemed a little disorganized (possibly understaffed?) at times, not calling when dresses were in or waiting several days to get around to placing a call. We were on a time crunch otherwise this might not have mattered but it became a sticking point. I was having to check up on the status daily so that I could inform my bridesmaids rather than waiting 2/3/4 days for UB to call them. It was annoying. But everyone did get their dresses in hand and altered in time it was just something I didn't feel I should have been dealing with. The staff was always nice which made it hard to get irritated but still... We all did love the Jim Hjelm bridesmaid dresses!!"
Ceremony:
Christ the King Catholic Church
7316 Balson AvenueSt Louis, MO, United States
"I grew up in this church so I'm biased but it is beautiful and traditional and I can't imagine having gotten married anywhere else."
Reception:
Missouri History Museum
5700 Lindell BoulevardSt. Louis, MO, United States
"I worked with Indra from the History Museum for my reception. She was the consumate professional and a joy to interact with. We emailed all the time and she really made my reception everything I had imagined and wanted. I know she worked her tail off behind the scenes and it paid off. My guests were plesead, I was stress free, everything was smooth and generally perfect."
Hotel:
Sheraton Clayton Plaza Hotel / St. Louis
7730 Bonhomme AvenueSt.Louis, MO, United States
"Good prices, discounts on parking, great location. We chose this hotel becuase we wanted to offer our guests an affordable hotel in a central location and the Sheraton provided that. Not the Ritz but certainly good for the money and a prime location. Also, Pointer's Pizza delievers late night to them."
