Hey, I saw that you had your wedding at Boldt Castle. I am exploring that option and I was just curious were they very strict on where to take pictures? I read on their site that certain places, like the grand staircase, can't have wedding pictures taken there? What about other rooms inside the castle, could you take pictures there? How long did you have on the castle - did that only include ceremony or did it include everything- getting ready, ceremony, pictures, and if anyone wants to go and explore the island or castle?

They are very strict about wedding pictures inside the castle... they do not allow any wedding pictures to be taken on the grand staircase. We didn't go inside the castle for pictures so I am not sure about any other portion of the inside. We were allowed to take as many pictures as we wanted outside the castle and got some beautiful shots. They let us set up anywhere we wanted on the grounds for group shots etc. Our wedding video came out very fairy tale'ish as I am decending from the brides room at the top of the playhouse tower... It really makes for a grand entrance! We had 3 hours to use the site... that was set up, get ready, ceremony and recieving line. After that we had as long as we wanted for pictures as long as we weren't blocking walk ways. We had lots of guests go and explore the castle and grounds while we did pictures and we had our after party at Bonnie Castle so it was a short trip from the island. The boat ride back was a lot of fun as well. You would be amazed at how many people stopped and watched our ceremony and took pictures of us on the boat and as we disembarked from the boat we were greeted by a large group of fellow passangers who had gathered to take pictures of us (people we didn't know!) The Staff both at the Castle and on the boat lines were fantastic! I would recommend this site to anyone! I do have some other questions.

Which day of the week did you have your wedding? If weekend, was the island crowded with the usual tourists that visit the castle? I just wonder about lots of tourists just walking around during my wedding and wedding photos, and if that would be distracting.

Have you visited Singer castle? I think Boldt looks more castle-y outside, but if I did Singer, I feel as there won't be as many tourists at Boldt and I could have my reception there, it's a hard choice, do you have any opinions?
