NORTH STONINGTON WEDDING IN OCTOBER
October, 2007 in North Stonington"Overall, it was great getting married in the fall in northeastern CT. The leaves were beautiful, and we had a whole range of weather-- cool, crisp, and sunny, and warm and humid with rain. Unfortunately, it rained on our wedding day, but it didn't bother us at all-- nothing could have bothered us on that day, we just felt bad for our guests arriving in the bad weather. No one complained to us, though!"

"Despite the rain, our ceremony was beautiful. We ended up having it on the back deck under a tent, and it was really nice. The outside grounds are gorgeous, and it would be beautiful for anyone to have their ceremony there. The only problem is that in the late fall, the light disappears quickly, and you cannot have a start time here any earlier than 5:30 pm. It's a disadvantage to not be able to use the beautiful outdoor area, but in order to do so, a summer wedding is probably best."

"The venue was great, and beautiful, but we had a small number of guests, and therefore were inside the building the whole time. The only problem is the lack of time to be able to set up indoors since the winery is open to the public until 5, and having to turn the music off at 10:30, and having to leave by 11:30. The earliest start time they allow is 5:30, and only having from 5 - 5:30 to decorate the public areas is not very much time. At 11:30, you have to be all packed up and ready to leave, too, which makes everything rather rushed."

"Everything about this place made our wedding go so much smoother. The staff was amazing, the rooms are nice, the restaurant gave us a great rehearsal dinner, and the available shuttle price was key. Everyone there was so pleasant and helpful, and I don't think our wedding would have been the same without this hotel."

"It was nice for us to have this cheaper option for some of our friends, but we heard that there were a lot of loud groups there, making it difficult for other guests to sleep. Also, the water was weird-- everyone's faces broke out after taking showers. ?"
