Paula from PJ's Cottage (in Georgetown) catered our wedding and made our cake. Food was abundant. There was more than enough and it was very tasty. We offered roast beef, pork, and chicken. Pork and chicken were very yummy, in comparison beef was okay. We also had a nice salad with colorful veggies, triple cheese mac & cheese (5 thumbs up), rolls, green beans, and I can't remember if there was anything else with dinner. We also had a baked brie and fruit tray along with some other apps during "cocktail hour". I only remember the fruit and baked brie because I'm a big fan of them and Paula made sure to save a small plate of fruit and brie for me. VERY, VERY GOOD. :) The cake was also DELICIOUS! We didn't have her do any fancy decorations because we aren't fondont or buttercream icing fans. We just had her ice the cake with cream cheese icing and decorate it with small polka dots. We had her make a small three tiered cake in two flavors (banana split - banana cake with strawberry and chocolate "filling", and pistachio) and then she made two sheet cakes for serving as well (one in each flavor). The cakes were moist and flavorful and our guests loved the banana split. We had 1/2 a sheet of pistachio left, along with our top tier. There was no banana split leftover. The sheet cakes were really like two sheets on top of each other (double-ish height of regular sheet cake) and were decorated to match the tiered cake so they could be set out on the cake table as well. I don't know how much it all cost - my mother paid for it as a gift. I think it was somewhere between 2,500 and 5,000 total for food, drink, cake, plates, cups, & cutlery. (I know that's a pretty big gap.) My mom wouldn't give me an actual figure. We had just over 150 guests and there was plenty of food and she doesn't care if guests come back for seconds and thirds - if there's food left, they can eat it. She stayed until after the cake was served so there was ample time for guests to eat. She also provided beverages at no extra cost. We chose to just have lemonade and tea but she'll bring soda if you want. We provided our own alcohol. My only real complaint - when she left all the non-alcoholic drinks left with her. My brother ran out to get some bottled water and ice after she left.

Rehersal dinner - we just had it at the Golden Corral in Georgetown. My in laws really wanted to pay for it and that made it economical for them. They were able to budget exactly what it would cost and there was a wide variety of food. If you are looking for a fancier place - call Circa 1840 (?). FANTASTIC food. If you want to try them out before you call them, you could go there for brunch one Sunday. If you like Paula's food but find a cheaper caterer - you could always have Paula cater your rehersal dinner.

One side note - anyone who asks about our wedding, I always tell them how AMAZING Shelly at Georgetown Flowers and Gifts was. She stuck to my budget (under $500) and everything was beautiful. We were going to use artificial flowers for my flower girls' flower balls so they could keep them. When she started to make the balls, she really didn't like how they looked so she made the balls out of fresh flowers (called me first for the okay) and ate the extra cost. She even made little nosegays out of fake flowers (that matched my real flowers) for my flower girls.
