May, 2010 in Boise

"The day had finally arrived after months of meticulous planning. With foresight, I had scheduled my wedding in May with the expectations of sunny and beautiful 80 degree temperatures. Of course, the weather in Idaho is somewhat unpredictable that time of year so as a contingency, I arranged for an indoor ceremony and reception just in case. To my chagrin, I woke on my wedding day to monsoon like rains, which later turned to snow showers. In fact, the temperatures ended up setting a record low for May! In spite of this, I was not about to let the climate ruin our day so I accepted it and moved on.

When I started planning, my desire was to create a wedding ceremony that was unique while utilizing and displaying our artistic personalities. The goal was to deliver the paramount matrimonial event our guests had ever experienced. Judging from the feedback I have received, goal accomplished.

The church we picked out was built in the early 1900s and was in need of a little decorating. The building itself was enough to set the stage for the rest of the evening. Our event was semi-formal however the reception site was classy and inviting while overlooking the skyline of Boise. The 3 story windows and panoramic view allowed for minimal room decoration, allowing us to concentrate on table adornments. To match our overall theme, we chose black chair covers with fuchsia ties which enhanced the room with an elegant flare without the typical wedding formalities. Our centerpieces consisted of curly willow and large spider mums, a simplistic but graceful arrangement that flowed perfectly with the mesmerizing view of the city’s environment in the background.

To capture the moment, our photographer capitalized on every detail so that our memories will never fade and to also provide a vivid and authentic experience for those who were unable to attend. This was a day we set out to burn into the memories of everyone who could participate. To summarize the reaction that we have received, words used to describe our wedding include: stunning, finest, elegant, superb, top-notch, phenomenal, distinctive, loss for words, and indescribable.

In retrospect, we could have planned a typical wedding and still would had the same amount of fun without all the thrills and painstaking effort. However, I sought to have my friends and family to experience the same elation, optimism and wonderment as I would on my special day. Now I can reminisce with warm and delightful memories rather than brooding about what might have been."

Almost Famous Entertainment

Boise, ID, USA

"Having been in over 10 weddings and attending countless others, I can honestly say that Almost Famous Entertainment is the best DJ service I have ever experienced. Marty was not only easy to work with but he made sure that our wedding was all that we wanted it to be. We provided him with the vision for what we wanted, a handful of songs that we wanted and didn't want and he exceeded our expectations. He provided exactly what we needed for a memorable evening with great music at dinner to keeping the dance floor packed the entire night. Many of our guests commented on how great the music was. It is not often that you come across such a great DJ. Thank you Almost Famous for being a part of our wedding day. Having been in over 10 weddings and attended countless, I have to say that Almost Famous Entertainment is the best I’ve experienced. Everyone has concerns when hiring a DJ (1) Play songs no-one wants to hear.. (2) Turn the event into your own event like a club DJ (3) Lack Professionalism (4) Etc. All we did was provide you with the vision for what we wanted, the handful of songs we didn’t want to play (i.e., The Macarena), how we thought the night should go and you completely exceeded our expectations. You provided exactly what was needed for a memorable evening with great music at dinner to keeping the dance floor packed through closing. Many of our friends commented on how great you were as well!"
