SHEENA AND DANIEL'S WEDDING
November, 2008 in Hilton Head Island"This was the perfect location for us to get married in. We wanted an outdoor wedding on the beach and we were able to do so in November and still have a gorgeous day. I would also recommend using Sea Pines because of Diane Russell-Hardy, their wedding coordinator. I don't think she ever said no. She was a breeze to work with and made sure the day went smoothly, and I never even noticed her. A destination wedding was the best idea we ever had because we've been to a ton of weddings and we noticed when it's a destination everybody has to travel, therefore, everybody wants to party and stays to the end. People have told us it's one of the best weddings they have ever been to and I believe that has a lot to do with the location. I will say that because HH is a resort island the costs may be higher than elsewhere, but it was worth it."

"This is a company where you can find multiple DJs, bands, comedians, etc. - all sorts of entertainment. We went with one of their DJs after reading his bio, Alan Palchak, and he was great. Played awesome music, very easy to work with and followed any guidelines you gave him and he also came and asked you permission for things your guest asked for to see if it was alright to do. Very considerate and kept the dance floor going. The people over at HH entertainment were also very easy to work with and were able to work with you to get what you wanted. I would highly recommend and the prices are fair."
Florist:
Wild Flowers
841 William Hilton PkwyHilton Head Island , SC 29928, United States

"I would not recommend this florist. The bridal bouquet did not look well put together and the grooms boutonniere looked like it was going to eat the groom, which also made some of our photos look odd. They were unable to use certain flowers for my centerpieces because they had not bloomed and had to change them hours before the wedding. However, they were easy to work with and the bridesmaids and groomsemens flowers turned out fine."
Officiant:
Barefoot Weddings
Hilton Head Island, SC, USA"Rich Smreczak is the officiant we used and he was great to work with. Very professional and easygoing. He also supplied us with a lot of different vows and we didn't even need to use him for the rehearsal. The prices were fair."

"I found Geoff Johnson via another page on weddingmapper.com and he was great to work with. He has a different style, more artistic than portrait, that I liked so I wouldn't say he is for everybody. We had very harsh sunlight (there was not a cloud in the sky) so a lot of our photos look better in black and white, but I LOVE THEM! His prices are fantastic and he is a dream to work with. I would highly recommend him if you like his style."
Ceremony:
Sea Pines Beach Club
87 North Sea Pines DrHilton Head, SC
"We wanted a beach ceremony and we had the perfect day for it - dolphins even showed up in the background during the ceremony. Warning: this is a public beach so be prepared for onlookers. Our wedding was in the off season so it really wasn't that bad - we don't have any photos of our ceremony with random people in the background but I'd bet you would if it was during high season."
Reception:
Sea Pines Plantation Club
100 North Sea Pines DrHilton Head, SC
"This was a great location for us. There are no tacky carpets or ugly drapes, etc. so there are no other color schemes to get in the way of what your own is. I also liked that it had a main room with 2 access points to the other room where the bar is so there were no bar stations. We had about 150 guests and we didn't receive any complaints about bar service. It allowed people to move around and mingle."
Hotel:
Days Inn

"We did not receive any feedback regarding this hotel. It is one of the more affordable places to stay in/around Sea Pines. Most of our family and friends chose to stay in the Sea Pines villa's or condo's, which people seemed to love."
Hotel:

"The people who stayed here loved this hotel. We stayed here on our wedding night in a suite and it was fabulous. It is a bit pricey though."

"If you aren't looking to spend a lot of money then this is the right place for you. I would rank the Days Inn above this, but this is a nice enough place to stay on the cheap."

Golf:
Harbour Town Golf Links

"The Sea Pines Resort's world-famous Harbour Town Golf Links. Home to the Verizon Heritage Tournament since 1969, this distinguished PGA Tour golf course places a premium on finesse, imagination, and shot-making rather than strength. Put your game to the ultimate test against a collection of par-threes ranking among the world's finest and a par-four 18th hole considered one of the most feared in all of golf - particularly when the wind is blowing off Calibogue Sound."
