EILEEN AND BEN'S WEDDING
April, 2009 in Washington DC"We had an unbelievably good time at our DC wedding. The spring weather was, luckily, perfect, the church venue was lovely, our photographer, flower vendor, and DJ all added to the elegance and fun tone of the day. The Old Ebbitt Atrium is a great place for a party - not always the most responsive over email and phone, which can be stressful when organizing - but the day of the event we were very happy with them. The location is special. We were pleasantly surprised by how happy guests from all over the country were to come to DC."

DJ:
Ed Witles - The Elegant DJ
2218 Wisconsin Ave NwWashington, DC, United States
"Ed did an excellent job playing music that got the crowd up and dancing. He helped keep us organized for the event with a timeline for the reception and kept us on schedule that day. The music during dinner wasn't too loud, and the music on the dance floor was just right!"
Florist:
Urban Petals
Washington, D.C., USA"Sarah is absolutely wonderful to work with and the flowers at the wedding were beyond gorgeous. She captured exactly the spring feeling we were hoping for and made everything more beautiful than we imagined. I only wish we could have brought all the flowers on our honyemoon. No better florist in DC!"
Photographer:
Michael Bonfigli
Washington, DC 20010, usa202.262.8282
"Michael was a great pleasure to work with, and his photos are absolutely beautiful, capturing the essense of the day. He was a lot of fun for us, the bride and groom, to work with, and also worked with us on cost for our early spring wedding. He was enthusiastic and flexible - incorporated ideas of our own (a special photo booth). Michael and his assistant were a subtle presence when appropriate, and also great coordinators of a huge family and wedding party when needed. We highly recommend Michael Bonfigli."
Ceremony:
Ceremony - St. Mary Mother of God
727 5th St NWWashington, DC 20001
"St. Mary Mother of God is a beautiful church and the pastor was very nice and easy to work with. We had a priest in the family do the ceremony. Couples should know ahead of time that the music director can be a bit specific about approved music for the ceremony."
Reception:
Reception - Old Ebbitt Grill
675 15th St NWWashington, DC 20005, US
"Everything went off beautifully the day of our event. We had some lapses in communication with the staff beforehand and a strange, but inconsequential, glitch in the main course that was served. I wouldn't change the location of our reception because of any of those things though. We loved the venue and had a fantastically fun time. Do not miss the opportunity to use the roof terrace for the cocktail hour. Our in-town and out-of-town guests alike were in love with the view and it added to the elegant, but fun, atmosphere. Well worth it the extra expense. Note: we didn't hire any extra lighting for the venue and we did not regret that cost-saving measure."

"Most of the cherry blossoms in DC are near the Tidal Basin, Jefferson Memorial and Haines Point/East Potomac Park. They may be in bloom around the time of the wedding."
