"Our wedding day was absolutely perfect. Wilmington is one of our favorite cities to visit, so it was why we decided to get married there and make all of our families and friends travel all the way there! We got married in Wilmington, and rented a huge beach house on Carolina Beach for the reception. Since the setting was so laidback, we wanted our decor and food to feel really elegant. I absolutely loved each of my vendors and our day would not have been what it was without each of them, so I wanted to share with other brides the businesses I chose. I hope it helps! I spent countless hours on so many wedding blogs and sites (including Wedding Mapper, Style Me Pretty, Wedding Bee, Green Wedding Shoes, etc) so that helped create our vision. "This is the place to go for a wedding cake in Wilmington. They were the best price BY FAR and the cake was the best wedding cake I have ever eaten. The person we worked with was Monique at the South Kerr Ave location and she was meticulous about every detail! Our cake was vanilla cake, vanilla buttercream and strawberry filling. Many guests told me it was the best cake they had ever tasted at a wedding."

"I looked at several different caterers for our reception because I was on a budget but I did not want "wedding food". I wanted my guests to have an experience. Bon Appetit completely made our reception an event. I cannot say enough good things about their food and their staff! The prices are better than most in Wilmington too, I shopped around. You schedule a tasting, and when we went to ours we met with the owner-- the amount of food you get at the tasting is like a feast. Their menu is very extensive and everything we tasted was phenomenol. My favorite things we had were the mini crab cakes, the chicken florentine, and the bbq on sweet potato cake. The Event Coordinator is Laura Garst and she is wonderful-- they really do take care of every last detail for you and you don't have to worry about anything at all! They also have an Event Planning part to their business so you can also have her plan the whole thing! The staff the day of the wedding was the best I have ever seen at an event. They were so attentive and no guest ever wanted for anything. Our glasses/plates were constantly full!"

"I found Betty through my photographer's blog because she had done flowers for another bride in the area and the pictures of this girl's flowers are what made me call Betty-- the flowers on the chuppa they used made her wedding look like a fairytale. When I e-mailed Betty I explaine what I wanted and she helped me come up with arrangements that fit my budget. I was long distance so we met once, and then did the rest over e-mail. She made it so easy and even e-mailed me pictures of what the flowers looked like that I had not heard of. The day of my wedding I was so floored by how beautiful the bouquets turned out! They were PERFECT- it was like she took what I had been imagining for months and created it. She even showed up early the day of and made sure each groomsmen had his bout on and stayed through the wedding to make sure everything went smoothly."

"This place is like heaven!!! All of the rooms only have 3 walls so that the 4th side where the wall is supposed to be opens up to the most beautiful view of the ocean and the Piton mountains of St. Lucia. The staff here is amazing and the food at Dasheene (their restaurant) is some of the best food I have ever eaten. It is truly and experience of a lifetime, and it was the perfect honeymoon. Most of the rooms have pools IN your room. I also thought it might be scary having the room open to the elements, but it was wonderful (and I am not an outdoorsy girl) :)"

"Vanessa Ottenbreit is the owner of VO Handmade and she created/designed/produced my wedding invitations. I ordered from her online shop on etsy.com. She has a design called Ocean Sunset that she can make small changes to to fit your wedding colors. They were perfect, and even came with these shimmery envelopes! Her prices are very reasonable as well."

Their selection is amazing and to this day, I have not seen a setting that looks like mine. Their prices are reasonable and they have been around for many years- so they know the business! They had the best prices we could find in the area, answered all of our questions in a timely and efficient manner (better than the other companies we tried to contact), and were there early to pick us up just in case."

"Red White and Green is owned by Jenna Thomas, and she is a photographer based in Charlotte, NC. She travels everywhere though to photograph weddings, families, events, etc. She is absolutely amazing! She has such a great energy and she is wonderful to work with. Her photographs are so creative and they make you look like you should be in a magazine (exactly how you want to feel on your wedding day!) She has several packages to choose from, so if you are on a budget, you do have choices. After a photo session or after your wedding, she makes an adorably packaged cd of pictures for you so you can print/order pictures as you wish instead of charging you a crazy amount of money to print them. I cannot say enough great things about Jenna. All of my guests loved her too- she was everywhere at once taking all kinds of angles. Check out her pictures on her blog- you will see how awesome she is!"

"I did not have a choice in rental companies because this is the company my caterer worked through, but they were great. When I was in town, I dropped in to their showroom, and they let me play in the fabrics, etc so I could actually see how my tables would look with all the linens etc."

"Kristen at Nsalo did my hair and make-up for my wedding and she did a wonderful job! I have never felt so beautiful as I did that day. She did exactly what I wanted and during my trial she asked questions until we got it right. Their prices are a little high (125 for hair and make-up), but I love their services so much, I did not want to go anywhere else."

"I want to live in this house, it is so amazing! Everyone was floored on how nice the house is. It does have an elevator if you have guests with disabilities. We wanted to rent a house instead of a reception hall so we would not have to be out by a certain time- we wanted to be able to have our guests stay as late as they wanted. We stayed at the house Thurs- Monday and the reception was Saturday night. The deck of the house is enormous and that is where we set up all the tables for dinner. We had a little over 100 guests and it was comfortable-- I would not go many over this though. We rented through Carolina Beach Realty and they were great. It is right on Carolina Beach, so the view during dinner was perfect. There is also a side yard if you needed to add a tent for more space."

"Our guests stayed here as well as other hotels around the area, but this is where we had our block. The sales department here was wonderful- we worked with Abby Federmann. She always answered questions quickly and efficiently and even helped me through some last minute additions. We did not have to pay for any remaining rooms that were not booked, so that was a plus and one of the reasons we chose them. It is probably the nicest hotel in the Carolina Beach area for guests so we felt very comfortable recommending our guests stay here."
