August, 2008 in New Orleans

"We had a blast during our wedding weekend. But for the one snafu with our rehearsal dinner, everything else went off without a hitch. We were so lucky to have chosen the vendors we did. All did their part to make our day super special and every chance we get to recommend someone we do - without reservation. Oh, and guests really appreciated the welcome to NOLA bag that included the "Wedding Mapper" map. It was useful and made a cute memento of their time with us."

Ceremony: Rosy's Jazz Hall
Reception: Rosy's Jazz Hall

Cakes/Candies Vendor:

Zoe's in Covington

118 W 32nd Ave
Covington, LA, United States

"Celeste plies her art on cakes. She took our pictures and created a more interesting finished product. They were absolutely beautiful. Oh, and our guests really liked the cakes. BTW, don't be put off by Zoe's spartan website. Celeste has a great body of work that she'll show you. It was worth the drive to meet her."

Custom Wedding Productions

New Orleans, LA, USA

"We worked with CWP (Simon was our DJ) to create our reception music list. He was good about sticking to our chosen music and referring special requests to my spouse."

"Diane's floral stylings were beautiful and captured our vision for color and the tropics in non-traditional arrangements. She was very easy to work with. Though she supported most of our ideas for the bouquets and table decorations, her alternative suggestions only improved the final look of our wedding. And she did everything within our budget. She did not try to oversell us on anything."

Limo Company:

American Luxury Limousines

503 N Saint Patrick St
New Orleans, LA, United States

"The company delivered as promised. They were on time and shuttled guests to and from Rosy's Jazz Hall as needed. I only heard compliments from our guests. I can't remember the driver's name but she was also well regarded by our guests."

Matthew Foster

New Orleans, LA, USA

"We loved working with Matt. He was laid back, easy and really unobtrusive. I barely saw him all night yet he captured the best of the wedding and reception. Though we did not want formal portraits, the few he took were beautiful. He has a great eye and is masterful in capturing the mood of the moment on film. We were sold on Matt just by looking at his website. If you use him, you will not be disappointed."

Reception & Ceremony:

Rosy's Jazz Hall

500 Valence St
New Orleans, LA, United States

"Though New Orleans has no shortage of options for wedding/reception venues, not all of them appeal to those of us looking for something a bit less traditional. Rosy's was perfect. The site still feels like a jazz hall but can be dressed up or down depending on the event. Steve and Darlene were great to work with both before the event and the day of. In fact, because of weather-related concerns, we were able to change our plans for the ceremony set up at the last minute without so much as a moment's hesitation from Steve or Diane and their staff. The food was delicious, the bar made our guests very happy and the staff made sure the brides were well taken care of. We're looking for any excuse to attend or host another event at Rosy's!"

Country Inn & Suites

315 Magazine St
New Orleans, LA, United States

"This modest hotel offered just what we needed: reasonable rates for good sized rooms near the French Quarter. Most of our guests were from out of town so it was important that they be near the Quarter though not necessarily in the middle of it. The staff were very accommodating and gracious. The property itself is formed by remodeled 19th century buildings and is therefore unlike most chain hotels. This one is much more architecturally interesting."

"Nuf said."

N.O. Nature:

"Peacocks, giraffes & more."

N.O. Nature:

"Some of Olga's favorite childhood family memories took place here... Story Land, white bread sandwiches, the train... and now for Denise- there's tennis!"

Rehearsal Dinner:

Dooky Chase Restaurant

2301 Orleans Ave
New Orleans, LA, United States

"We were beyond disappointed with our night at Dooky Chase. Mrs. Leah Chase was a delight to meet and plan our rehearsal dinner. Unfortunately she was not there that night. Though the two (2) servers performed well under the circumstances, there were two private functions that night, they were still only two people. Our meal was slow being served. There was supposed to be a cash bar but we were charged for the drinks consumed. What was supposed to be a easygoing dinner ended up being very stressful and not enjoyable."
