I am planning a wedding in Cartagena as my fiance is from Colombia. I really enjoyed reading all the events you planned for your guests and that sounds like something I would also like to do! I was hoping you can give me a range of how much you budgeted for our wedding? My guest list is about the same length as yours too!

My name is Lina Diaz. I am having my wedding at the hotel las Americas this March 2012! I found this blog and I am happy to have found so much information, thank you very much!
I wanted to ask you a few questions, if you could help me would be of GREAT help!

1. I can see you had your tables inside the Kiosk, where did you have the dancing and the band? Was there enough space and wasn't it too hot?

2. I didn't like how the kitchen looked behind the bar, did you do anything to cover that or did you leave as it was?

3. Did you rent ventilators?

4. The hotel suggested to have our dinner tables outside the kiosk, right on the beach, I didn't like that I idea, I liked the look of your sofas. What did you think after having had the dinner inside?

Response:
1. I have 85 guests. 11 tables with 8 people each. My decorator put 9 tables on the low level and 2 tables on the right side of the high level of the kiosk. The band and dancing was there too in the second level. Enought space
2. I pay my decorator to cover the Kitchen.
3. Fortunally or unfortunally I do not know you are going to get marry on the windest month of the year. Guests love it. Cartagena was not hot at all on that time. The wind changed my wedding set up. I was going to have the ceremony on the beach but the sand and wind were to much so we had the ceremony in the oasis. Love it there!!!I do not have regrets about it. I had 4 livingrooms sets on the beach and 6 bar tables 4 in the beach and 2 on the Oasis side. The wind was so strong that they could not put the tables beach flower decorations or the torchs. So, do not worry about being hot. If they get hot when they are dancing they walk outside the kiosk and they are not hot anymore. Send me your email I send other pictures and you can see all the set up. So, answer your question you do not need fans.(ventilators)
4. Do not put your tables on the beach you won't be able to put your table decoration. Wind will be strong. And I love the sofas and bar tables people was everywhere, Everybody talked to everybody. Remember it is a beach wedding so it is less formal. People love the set up.
I had a buffet because I wanted different optios for dinner,They set up the buffet on the deck behind the kiosk in fron of the second pool. Really prety too. I will tell you few things if you call me that I prefer do not write here that you should be aware and will help you.

Thank you SO much for taking the time to reply so thoroughly, I found it so helpful! Yes, I have so many other question that would appreciate a lot if I can call you, what time is best for you? I live in the UK so I have to be mindful of time differences, would the weekend work for you?
as for the pictures, yes that would be great! I am very interested to see what you did to cover the kitchen as the hotel is charging me a lot to cover that and I can't picture what they would put there. Also, was the buffet far? they suggested to me that they would put it on the beach. They also wanted to put all the tables on the beach rather than inside the Kiosk. They haven't mentioned the wind at all!

Hi Clara, I am planning my wedding for next year and I'm having a hard time deciding between La Chiche and Caribe Cordial. Both have great reviews online and I was wondering what bad reviews you received regarding Caribe Cordial so I can take this into consideration.I can't find anything bad online so far. They are about 50% less expensive than Chiche but ultimately I just want to make sure I have a seamless experience with my planner. Also, La Chiche's people have not been very responsive, so I am wondering if this is how the rest fo the planning will be. Please let me know. Thanks!!!

I am just beginning to plan my wedding and I am looking into hiring La Chiche as the work she does speaks for itself. I did read reviews stating that Andres Cortes is quite expensive. I am hoping to do a lot of the same things you did during your wedding so your input would be very valuable! Thanks so much,

"The place is great for a beach wedding. If you are planning to get married on the beach look for a month that is not windy. The wind changed all my wedding set up. My wedding was small (84 people)Half North American/Half Colombian. The bad and the good. The bad: The service the day of the wedding was slow. They served the desserts in the wrong presentation. They did not served all the food I paid for. It was good I had a WP and a great decorator because it was difficult to work with Las Americas. They wanted to handle my wedding in the same way they handle a 1000 people seminar event. The good: The place is beautiful, the food, and drinks were really good."
