Hi Maren,
I absolutely loved my experience with Red Lion Inn.
First off, I'm not sure when you sent this message, so sorry for the delay in replying.
That said, everyone was wonderful for our wedding.
And, the food was amazing! We got tons and tons of compliments on the food, the service, and the overall environment/location at Red Lion Inn.
When we were choosing sites, we saw Red Lion Inn first, and loved it, but weren't sure we should go with the first site we looked at. After searching for several weeks, and looking for other places 'that felt or looked like RLI', we chose to go with them. Best decision- never regretted it. I did see some not-good reviews about RLI as well, but then I saw a couple others that commented that the 'bad' reviews were from a yaer earlier, and there had been a change in hands in wedding mgmt/planning.
Elena was our contact person there, and she helped with so much. We worked with her over the 9 months of our engagement. She didn't try to lead me down any direction in particular, but instead supported whatever i really wanted.
There was a girl who was the "wedding captain" who was supposed to be the one running the show the night of the wedding. She left a couple weeks before our wedding, and was replaced by a man named Tony. We met him once before the wedding, when we went in for final details meeting, and then both he and Elena were there the night of the wedding. He was excellent as well.
Food was delicious- we went with prime rib and chicken (the basic chicken option- cheaper than the other chicken options- and most delicious). The cocktail hour food was so good too....went with stuffed mushrooms, scallops wrapped in bacon, something else i can't remember, and the mini rootbeet floats. Those were so additions! Elena and Tony helped us pick the right amount so we weren't paying for stuff that wasn't going to be excess. We did the cake through Konditor Meister, through the package with RLI... again- absolutely delicious.
I highly, highly recommend a wedding there. (esp if you haven't made a decision already)
Also, our wedding was a sunday night. After the wedding, we went down to the bar there and were able to continue socializing with our friends for a bit. We loved it, and so did the friends.
I hope you have success in whatever you choose. And congrats on your engagement!
Last thing- in case you are looking for a DJ... I highly, highly recommend the DJ we used as well. He was excellent. 5 Star Entertainment.... Greg Hodges.
