DAVID AND ADRIENNE'S WEDDING

October, 2008 in Portland

"The weather and foliage was PERFECT for our wedding at St. Clement's Castle. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a more perfect wedding shared with such wonderful people."

Ceremony: Saint Clements Castle

Band:

Tuxedo Junction

83 Clydedale Ave
Haverhill, MA 01830, USA
978-372-7882

"They were awesome and had tons of people on the dance floor. The only issue was they were so good everyone didn't want the evening/dancing to stop!"

Band:

Professional Entertainment

Portland, CT, USA

"These guys are the BIGGEST scam ever. Adrienne (the bride) contacted them and asked if there was any charge using their service after doing the research on all of the bands herself. The guy lied and said there wasn't, only Dave (the groom) found out later that he was charging us $1000 more than if we had just contacted the band directly, for all of 30 minutes of his work. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!"

Dance Instructor:

Tempo Dance Center

211 Shunpike Rd # 8
Cromwell, CT, United States

"Gail had her work cut our for her as Dave (the groom) has no rhythm and Adrienne (the bride) wasn't used to following. However she was an INCREDIBLY patient teacher and worked on choreographing a dance that worked perfectly for us, and a fun swing number for Adrienne and her dad. We can't wait to go back and take regular dancing lessons from her, that's how much we enjoyed it!"

Favors Vendor:

KeepSake Favors

Portland, CT, USA

"They were one of the only places we could find the chocolates we wanted as favors (claddauh design) and they were able to do a rush job to get us what we wanted in time for the wedding. Plus the chocolates not only looked, but tasted AMAZING!"

Florist:

Datura

386 Main St # 200
Middletown, CT, United States

"Tony and his staff were wonderful to work with. We had a particular vision for our center pieces and he made them come out better than we could have imagined. He also was able to take that vision then and extend it to the rest of the locations that we needed flowers for. I also was vary appreciative of the fact that he used the Organic flowers that we provided for him, and that his whole aesthetic is very much a "natural" look."

Invitations Vendor:

Emerald Invitations

Portland, CT, USA

"Dave (the groom) had written our invitation and it was slightly non-standard, we had talked to other invitation people that refused to help make that vision come true. The guys at Emerald Invitations not only did a great job ensuring our invitations looked exactly like we wanted them too, they made a GORGEOUS custom program that tied together beautifully with our invitations and overall theme. In addition, they had some of the best pricing around!"

Jeweler:

Nathan's Jewlers

Portland, CT, USA

"Nathan worked with us for providing the Groom's ring which was totally custom ring in platinum, as well as all of the attendant gifts. He also was able to do the engraving on the gifts and rings as well as solder Adrienne's engagement & wedding ring together. The attention we got as customers was phenomenal, and it's nice being able to support a small-town family run business like Nathan's."

Limo Company:

Double A Transportation

579 New Park Ave
West Hartford, CT, United States

"The shuttle driver was the WORST. When he first showed up, he argued with the groom about what exactly he had been hired to do (make multiple trips). Then he took so long getting people to the ceremony that the grandmother's almost missed the wedding. Lastly, apparently the Father of the Bride had to go out and argue with him at the end of the night because he was just going to leave and strand people at the castle."

Officiant:

Steven Mitchell

Portland, CT, USA

"When we first met Steven we thought he was going to be the perfect officiant, he was personable and funny and we loved the fact that he had a backup JP in case of an emergency. However, when it came to the rehearsal on the Friday before the wedding, he showed up without any of the vows information that Adrienne (the bride) had sent him, he wanted to run the rehearsal up on the porch instead of down at the actual ceremony site and overall it was just a mess. Then the day of the wedding, he ended up making Adrienne VERY upset by overwhelming her with unimportant questions right before the ceremony. Then during the ceremony instead of respecting our wishes to stay out of the way he shoved his binder in front of both of us for the exchanging of the vows. So EVERY picture now has him and his binder in it. Maybe he was just having an off weekend, but he was one of the few vendors we were unhappy with."

Photographer:

Signature Photography

Riverwalk Drive
Winsted, CT, United States

"Darcy and her crew have been fabulous from beginning to end. We also used Darcy to do our engagement album which was taken over a day in Boston at over 8 different locations! She also did my wife's trash the dress session the day after the wedding. She's been a joy to work with, and has worked to ensure we get the photos we want."

Tuxedo Vendor:

Men's Warehouse

7075 Grand Ave
Gurnee, IL, United States

"Because of the size of my wedding party (more than 4 guys), I was able to get my tux totally free! The ordering process was completely painless, and for the most part all of my groomsmen (who came from out of town) were able to get their tuxes without a problem."

Videographer:

Vizual Productions

Portland, CT, USA

"We met Troy at the CT Wedding Show and he seemed like the perfect videographer. And once the day came he did a great job staying out of the way while still managing to get some cool shots. However, before the wedding there was apparently some confusion as to whether we had actually booked them and we almost didn't have a videographer. Then after the wedding, we didn't hear from him for over 10 months. So their follow through isn't the greatest."

Ceremony:

Saint Clements Castle

1931 Portland Cobalt Rd
Portland, CT, USA

"The castle was fabulous, the grounds were perfect, the staff was super friendly and helpful and the ballroom looked great!"

Hilton Garden Inn Glastonbury

85 Glastonbury Boulevard
Glastonbury, CT, United States

"There were some small issues, but overall the hotels were comfortable and they tried to fix the issues when they were brought to their attention."
