Hi Elaine,

Our wedding was held on Oct. 30, 2010. We were married in the Francis Smith Memorial Chapel at Ross Camp, then held the reception at the David Ross House.

Ours was an elegant and intimate event that was made even more beautiful by the property. The chapel was a perfect venue for the wedding, but there are a few things you should know:

The church has no restroom. You have the option of brining in portable units to the property. We chose to alert our guests in advance. There are restrooms located nearby in the campground. We also chose to spend our own time in cleaning up the building and grounds...even down to washing down the siding that had molded. We raked leaves and cleaned porches on the outside. We also tidied up the inside and used some air freshener plug ins to remove the musty smell. Still...the chapel is beautiful with its stained glass windows and metal tiled ceiling. I'll try to post photos.

As for the David Ross House, there's no better evening view in the fall than from the windows in the main room. We installed white twinkle light wrapped tree branches outside to cast a beautiful glow. The area is certainly small. In the main room, we strategically placed the head table (2 six foot 24" wide), then very carefully arranged 6 60" inch rounds, seating a total of six in the wedding party and 48 guests. The side room held three tables - one for the wedding cake, another groom's cake and a gift/memory table.

The plated dinner was staged in the very tiny kitchen and side room. We chose to bring in rented china, silver and crystal, so the area was quite packed.

Lastly, remember that the only restrooms are located downstairs in the basement. They are adequate but are not handicapped accessible.

And, as with the church, we needed to do a little more cleaning to bring the venue up to our standards.

The onside staff at the park were very accommodating, and for the most part, the reservations staff were helpful with the exception of one person who tended to be rude and difficult.

I loved every moment of our wedding and wouldn't have changed a thing.
