CARTAGENA, BOLIVAR, COLOMBIA"Mary Cueter, and Rosa (her assistant), helped us to have a wedding that was better than we could have imagined!!! I cannot say enough good things about these wonderful and kind women. My husband and I live in California and we wanted to elope in Cartagena. We wanted something very simple and inexpensive. We worked with a woman in Bogota who said all of our paperwork was approved with the notaria and that we would be married at 4.30pm on the afternoon of February 21st. We were scheduled to fly to Colombia on 2/16. The day before our trip she emailed to tell us that Americans could no longer marry in Colombia and that there was nothing she could do about it and our wedding was canceled! It was horrible and I was extremely upset. I emailed Richard who runs the Casa Amarilla guesthouse in Mompos (I had been coordinating travel there with him and he had been so helpful and friendly) to ask him if this sounded crazy to him. I didn't know another person in Colombia so he was my only hope. Very luckily he put me in touch with Mary. She took our call right away and agreed to meet us the first day we were in Cartagena even though she was busy organizing a wedding that day! That was on a Friday. By Monday we had an appointment to meet with a new notaria who said there had been no law change and our paperwork looked perfect. Rosa helped find the perfect location, have the most beautiful flowers, and organized a photographer and videographer all for a very reasonable price. She was amazing and I will always be so thankful to them for saving our wedding!"

"This is a gorgeous hotel with an incredibly nice staff. The pool on the roof is beautiful. We stayed here for three nights..one night before our wedding and two after. The owner was so gracious in allowing us to have the photographer and videographer in the hotel for a few hours on the wedding day and they even sent us a bottle of champagne while we were getting ready for the big event. They really made us feel special. Excellent customer service, fabulous old building with amazing interior design and artwork all with a very laid-back, unpretentious feel."
