PITTSBURGH PA WEDDING IN OCTOBER

October, 2011 in Pittsburgh
Pink_ask_a_question

Ceremony: Calvary United Methodist Church
Reception: Pittsburgh National Aviary

Florist:

Mocha Rose

4805 Penn Ave
Pittsburgh, PA 15224, USA
412-361-4141

"When planning our wedding, I was more excited about our flowers than anything else. I'm so glad we hired Mocha Rose because I can't imagine anyone else putting together flowers as nice as what we had. April met with us several times before the wedding and really listened to our ideas and what we had planned for the wedding to make sure the flowers tied in. I think our guests were really impressed with the flowers too because, in the pictures that were shared with us, there were a lot that people took of just the flowers!"

"I chose Calvary Church after being in it for the Allegheny West Holiday Home tour. It is the most beautiful church I have ever been. Aleeta, the wedding coordinator, and Rev.Larry, our minister, were so nice and acommodating. The church has an amazing organ that you won't find many other places and the BEST organ player. They are not a wedding factory like some other churches, which appealed to me."

Reception:

Pittsburgh National Aviary

700 Arch Street
Pittsburgh, PA 15212

"The aviary is the perfect venue if you want a fun reception in a non-traditional setting. We rented the rose garden tent for cocktail hour outside and then moved inside under the atrium for dinner and dancing. Both places were so beautiful, even before they had any decorations. The rooms at night, with flowers and tables, look so different from how they do during the day. It's amazing. You can also have bird encounters for an additional fee and I highly recommend that. That was a big hit. We had a penguin, a parrot, and an owl. I wish I had a reason to host another big party there again! It is an amazing value for the price and the people were great to work with! More pluses - you bring your own alcohol, the aviary supplies tables and chairs, you choose your caterer. Something good and bad is that you provide any rentals (linens, dishes, flatware, glasses, etc.) It's good because you get what you want, but it is hard if you don't know what you're doing. (Jean Ross from Opening Night Catering helped us with this and she was GREAT!)"
