"The location itself is absolutely fantastic for the price we paid (approx. $85/per person). There is a stunning rooftop view in the Bayview Room, the room has floor-to-ceiling windows. The hotel was recently remodeled, so it's very modern and trendy. However, the Marina del Rey Marriot gets 3-stars when it comes to service -- it could have been more organized."

Many honorees received multiple stars during the initial phase of installation for contributions to separate categories; however, the practice in recent decades has been to honor individuals not yet represented, with only a handful of previous honorees being awarded additional stars. In 1978, the City of Los Angeles designated the Walk of Fame as a Cultural/Historic Landmark. The Walk of Fame began with 2,500 blank stars. A total of 1,558 stars were awarded during its first sixteen months. Since then, about two stars have been added per month. By 1994, more than 2,000 of the original stars were filled,"

Venice Beach and Boardwalk

Pacific and Windward aves
Venice, CA, United States

"Take a walk along the Venice Boarwalk to Santa Monica Pier. There is a sandy three-mile beach here, but that is not what attracts visitors. You go to Venice to shop and gawk. During the summer season and on weekends, there is street entertainment at every intersection along Ocean Front Walk. Street performers include instrumental musicians, singers, jugglers, acrobats, mimes, comics, magicians, prophets, fortune tellers, and other assorted entertainers. You will see people with tricolor hairdos, painted faces, weird tattoos, and outlandish clothing--or lack of it. The Boardwalk is a virtual sidewalk circus, a walk 'n' rolling skin show. There are lots of funky shops, too, if you want to eat out of the ordinary or buy an unusual souvenir or T-shirt."
