Hi David:

I have to say, we booked The Inn at Longshore for the location, location, location and were happily surprised by the food. Our tasting was less than par but we came away from it figuring that we originally loved the venue because of the gorgeous lawn and beautiful ballroom. So who cared about the food? We were surprised. All the food was fantastic (we even had people tell us after that it was the best wedding food they'd ever had).

And the service was even better. My husband and I pulled up to Longshore and they had us park right out front of the building and had two waiters greet us with food (some apps) and champagne. They told us they would be assigned to us all night and to let them know when we needed ANYTHING. And they were on top of us, whenever a drink was empty they were there to refill it.

As for the out of town guests - there are rooms at the inn, 12 in total, so clearly not enough for your whole guest list. What we did was had a room block set up at a hotel outside of town (The Norwalk Inn) and rented a bus for all the guests that would take them to the church/reception and home.
