We had a wonderul reception at the Country Barn. The food was very good. My guests all seemed to really enjoy it. I too was worried about the formality of the food service. I did not want a buffet which is what all previous clients had done, but we wanted our money's worth and didn't want to pay the same price as an all-you-can-eat buffet for a seated one plate meal. So we decided to have our meal served family style. We were the first wedding to ever chose this option and it went very smoothly. They served everything in nice bowls and refilled them as needed. So we got the same amount of food as we would have with the buffet, but in more formal way. We decorated the barn very elegantly (with lanterns hanging from the ceiling, lots of candles (battery operated), a tree with hanging crystals etc) so that really is what I feel set the tone for it to be a formal event. I really did love the mix of rustic and elegance. The barn really did turn out too be the perfect backdrop for our wedding. So overall I would say, if you are looking for a unique, beautiful setting, that still has a relaxed feel to it than the barn is your place. If you are looking to have a really super formal event, then you might be better off in a ballroom. I hope this helped. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask. Hello,

Thank you for getting back to me. Your response did help. With the economy these days and the fact that both my fiancee and I just got out of college, we are looking for a nice place to have a wedding, but for a good price. I don't care if the reception is very formal or not, but something nice. I was just afraid of the mom and pop style where they are trying to serve a wedding on their own, which I kinda got that feeling when I looked at the place.
